Please critique my wool choice - stylecraft dk colours for baby blanket

I'm going to make a baby blanket for some good friends who are expecting their first.

I'm thinking of doing a ripple (attic24 pattern) of mostly cream with red, yellow, blue and green stripes. Probably 2 cream, 1 colour: repeat to end.

What do you think?

I have itchy trigger fingers for ordering wool!

Yep. A big full arm cast. :(
He was miserable with the temporary cast from a&e as it was really heavy and he couldn't use his fingers at all. He got a proper cast yesterday and it's much lighter and he can play Lego again so much happier. :)
Watching him in agony and go into shock from the pain was the scariest thing ever!
