Yes I am but I don't care

I have just got the washing in, mostly school uniform for tomorrow as it it bloody photos, and I have had to put most of it back in the wash as it is covered and I mean covered in bird droppings .

So from now on I do not care if it is 100 degrees outside I am not putting washing out I am going to use the tumble. I can afford to and I don't really give a stuff about the melting ice caps.
Also I am going to get a saw and cut off every branch of next doors cherry tree that is so much as one inch over the dividing fence.

I am also never going to feed the birds again in the hope they all die this winter.....

Yes I know I am being unreasonable but I will now be up to gone midnight waiting for the wash to stop, then drying it then Ironing it.....

(fed up face)

OK. That was mean and is uncharacteristic of me so I apologise, Mamasparkle.
I don't think I've ever used the in passive aggressive mode before

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 21/06/2010 11:14

Am I the only one worrying about the OP getting splinters in her bottom if she slips whilst befouling the pigeons' nests?

I do hope you are uninjured, RW!

mamasparkle · 21/06/2010 13:00

Apology accepted thumbwitch.... we'll have to agree to disagree as I can assure you the name suits me perfectly! (hides thread!)

cheesesarnie · 21/06/2010 13:03

only read start of thread...but maybe get a cat?

DilysPrice · 21/06/2010 13:06

You need to sack your cats OP - any bird that dares come anywhere near our garden ends up in pieces on the kitchen floor - I do not possess a tumble drier, but nothing has ever crapped on my washing.

Or buy an air rifle.

fyimate · 21/06/2010 13:16

I didnt realise that we could save the world by turning off a light or washing in 5cm of water when Las Vegas is lit up like a xmas tree every night!!

Shodan · 21/06/2010 13:35

It's not tumble dryers that cause all the problems anyway. It's eggs. Rotten eggs, more precisely.

I read it on my wind-up laptop last night, so it must be true.

Get rid of all eggs. That'll solve everything.

And maybe chickens, too.

RunawayWife · 21/06/2010 14:26

Its the cows farting that is the problem
Get rid of flatulent cows and save the world

OP posts:
Shodan · 21/06/2010 14:31

So that's eggs, chickens, cows, milk and all the subsequent produce eliminated.

Hmmm. Am thinking I'll miss steaks and cheese too much, so may just have to risk the possible meltdown after all.

RunawayWife · 21/06/2010 18:31

You may join me on my ark if you like

Why is do you only have a choice of tumble dryer or hanging outside? What's wrong with having an airer indoors? Saves on electricity and everything's drying really quickly at the moment anyway because it's warm. I have a tumble dryer and I've used it twice in eight years. Everything gets hung on banisters and airers to dry and has never caused any problems.

PussinJimmyChoos · 21/06/2010 20:02

Runaway - what are you tumbling tonight dear?

I've got wet shoe laces so am tumble drying tthem one at a time, on full heat and for the full hour per shoelace

honeydragon · 21/06/2010 20:15

tidey

really this is not the time for reasonable and helpful suggestions

we have an ark to build.

(I ditched my airer for one of those coathanger holder thingies - and they are great to hang clothes on and dry crease free - but please don't let the enviromentalists know - I don't want to be outed)

chegirlmonkeybutt · 21/06/2010 20:27

edam if you want to cut down on ironing you have to get stuff out of the tumble when its still warm and give it a good flick before you fold it.

Its called the 'fluff and fold'. If you leave stuff in there after it dries its even worse to iron.

I love my tumbler. I wouldnt be without it. I do at least two washes a day (sometimes its on all day). In nice weather of course I hang stuff outside and I use radiators when the heating is on.

I am not going to say I couldnt live without it but I wouldnt want to try.

But I have only flown twice in my 42 years, didnt learn to drive till I was 36 and have been using eco lightbulbs for years.

drloves · 21/06/2010 20:46

runaway you have my upmost sympathy !
i feel your pain , i really do ....old bloke next door has pigons.
Everyday ...
...The car is shat on .
....the house windows (well at least one a week) are shat on..
....the kids garden swings are shat on..
.... gave up hanging washing out ...if the neighbour from hell would leave our washing on the line long enough ,no doubt that would be shat on too..
.... the twins pram (long time ago)was even shat on..
...had enough im buying a ferrit.

edam · 21/06/2010 22:16

chegirl, thanks for the top tips. Will try it and report back!

chegirlmonkeybutt · 21/06/2010 22:22

Just call me Anthea (like she does any of her own housework )

edam · 21/06/2010 22:31

Ah, she must be like Gillian 'poo' McKeith. Who has a cook to prepare meals for her own family - delivered fresh every night!

chegirlmonkeybutt · 21/06/2010 22:36
Shock
edam · 21/06/2010 22:41

'tis true! (Although I don't know if it's permanent, it certainly was a regular arrangement.)

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 21/06/2010 22:51

Runawaywife - in order to keep the Universe in balance, I dried a load of washing outside today - so that cancels out last night's load of school uniform for you.

If I get really carried away, I might change and wash my bedding tomorrow, and dry that outdoors too.

RunawayWife · 22/06/2010 07:16

How are the shoe laces going?

With regard to flying, my mother has been on 8 flights (4 holidays) since January, she is clearly trying to kill the polar bears single handed

OP posts:
PussinJimmyChoos · 22/06/2010 20:35

They didn't dry 100% so I left them on all day while I was at work

I want to know more about your chairs...I have no idea about designer furniture...

FleeBee · 22/06/2010 21:46

I was thinking of this thread today when DD2 climbed into the tumble after the bobbly dryer balls thingys. DH has now taken plug off tumble just in case DD1 ever switches tumble on when DD2 is inside.

I dried stuff on the line all day.

Therefore: I believe my children are the future, I taught them well and let them lead the way, shown them all the beauty they posess inside

RunawayWife · 22/06/2010 22:00
