I have just got the washing in, mostly school uniform for tomorrow as it it bloody photos, and I have had to put most of it back in the wash as it is covered and I mean covered in bird droppings .

So from now on I do not care if it is 100 degrees outside I am not putting washing out I am going to use the tumble. I can afford to and I don't really give a stuff about the melting ice caps.
Also I am going to get a saw and cut off every branch of next doors cherry tree that is so much as one inch over the dividing fence.

I am also never going to feed the birds again in the hope they all die this winter.....

Yes I know I am being unreasonable but I will now be up to gone midnight waiting for the wash to stop, then drying it then Ironing it.....

(fed up face)

Caring about it doesn't make you uber-worthy mama, droning on about it and being increasingly aggressive and derogatory in your tone, on a thread that was clearly started as a light hearted and ironic (check the title) rant-ette about a single laundry related incident (fgs), by someone who has since made it clear that she in actual fact, cares a great deal herself about the environment, DOES!

Phew! Ok, now I am ready for bed, yawn.

Bet you never thought you'd cause so much controversy RW didya? Watch your fillings on that polar bear by the way, they're chewy.

mamasparkle · 20/06/2010 22:23

It's not the tumble dryer that's the problem for me, it's the comment that she doesn't care!Fine, perhaps she was being tongue in cheek.

StealthPolarBear · 20/06/2010 22:24

Do I look like some damn chicken???
Here - have some quorn and leave me alone

RunawayWife · 20/06/2010 22:25

When I posted I expected someone to say...in a Helen Lovegood voice...but think of the Ice caps!!!!
So I said I don't care about the ice caps, it was a joke.... get over it...

A third wash?? Blardy hell, MamaSparkle will combust...

bibbitybobbityhat · 20/06/2010 22:26

I line-dry all the time (cannot stand the feel of tumble dried clothes) and never once has a bird pooed on them. Do you live by the seaside?

edam · 20/06/2010 22:30

mumoflittlemouse, thank you! We didn't actually choose to have a tumble dryer, it was left by the previous owners, so no instruction manual or anything to refer to.

honeydragon · 20/06/2010 22:30

A bird shat on my mum last week we live at the furthest point from the sea you can get!
They fly bibbity - they get everywhere

(Do get the point bibbity - but the wording of the post made me giggle)

RunawayWife · 20/06/2010 22:31

I am far more worried about the murders in the Congo the fact women are raped daily, but I don't sit on mumsnet having a go about it, I go out and do something about it....

I do not like the fact £62 a year could treat a mother in a 3rd world country who has HIV+ but the greedy drug company's want $$$$$$$$$$

I am worried little girls in China are left to die because they are not boys

I am worried street children in India work on rubbish dumps to find plastic bottles and they are the lucky ones the others end up selling their bodies to some fat pervert from the west

Now look what has happened to my lovely light hearted thread

I think there is something in the air tonight wifey, a few thread are turning bad unnecessarily - I came to hide out here as it looked like fun, am now so depressed i might go and do the ironing myself - I never though this evening would get that bad.

honeydragon · 20/06/2010 22:36

I take it back, if we are shitting in birdsnests then i for one am going to find the fucking starling in my street that keeps impersonating an alarm clock at 4am, and wake him now that its dark. He really is a little obnoxious feathery fucker.

RunawayWife · 20/06/2010 22:36

Well I am going to go move more furniture as the decorator is coming tomorrow.... and I do not want him messing with my Ernest Race chairs

Waits to be slated for having expensive chairs

I don't have a tumble drier, nor do I have a washing line that is overhung by trees thank goodness. I would not be best pleased having to rewash a whole load of school uniforms late on a Sunday night.

I do however have a tree in my garden and like to sit under it and read on occasions. By coincidence, this afternoon a bird crapped on my head.

I just thought I'd share that, as threads like this are so incredibly rare.

baskingseals · 20/06/2010 22:57

thank goodness i clicked onto this thread
dd's uniform is still in washing machine

off to bung it in tumbler

honeydragon · 20/06/2010 23:06

I think we can establish that without tumble dryers the uk truancy rate would be much higher

thumbwitch · 21/06/2010 02:45

Oh dear, what a twisty turny thread! I did LOL at honey's post about the starling though - you go girl! Wake that damn starling.

I feel for you, I had sparrows in my eaves in the UK and couldn't evict them because they were becoming endangered - were the little buggers grateful? Were they 'eck - they used to scratch and scritch and flap their wings under there - might as well have been woodpeckers!

Mamasparkle - re. your name - your sparkle has gorn out, I'm afraid. You did come across as uberworthy for not "getting" that Runawaywife was not being entirely serious in her OP - so perhaps you should either remind yourself that you have a sense of humour; or maybe MamaWorthybutDull would be a better name?

Alouiseg · 21/06/2010 07:04

Lolling (quietly) at Runawaywife shitting in a birds nest.

I just read this thread and decided to utilize the tumble dryer rather than let the Albatrosses that live in next doors cherry tree do their worst.

I love my tumble dryer, it makes everything so soft.

RunawayWife · 21/06/2010 07:20

Got to bed, past midnight and up again at 6, I am tired. I am usually in bed by 9

I did get most of the furniture moved though.

So today will consist of school run x 2
home to let in the decorator
Tidy up upstairs
Go to work
Come home start dinner
Meeting at the school
Feed people
Sort school things for tomorrow
Pack lunches
Then I am taking part in a quiz tonight although I shall most likely fall asleep at the table.

Oh and I have another load of washing to be washewd, tumbled and ironed
