To have an irrational loathing of Mr Tumble?

dippymare · 13/06/2010 20:16

Am I alone in finding Mr Tumble INTENSELY annoying to the point that I have to leave the room when I hear his voice? Or maybe I just watch too much Cbeebies. And while I'm having a premenstrual rant, Miss Hooley comes a close second...wink

With you on Miss Hooley but Mr Tumble/Justin??? No way! He can do no wrong in this house

suwoo · 13/06/2010 20:30

I just bought a toy from the carboot sale this morning. Unfortunately whenI put batteries in it, it is voiced by Justin omniprescent Fletcher.

DrSpechemin · 13/06/2010 20:35

I fucking hate have an irrational dislike for him too.

I know children love him and Something Special is brilliant - but I just can't bloody stand him.

He also reminds me of one of my friends husbands - and not in a good way either

YANBU.I can't stand him.He's creepy and obnoxious.

OneTwo · 13/06/2010 20:42

You see I like Justin but loathe Mr Tumble, it goes on mute when that blooming "Mr Tumble Mr Tummmmmmblllllle" calling starts.

And don't get me started on the adinoidal child who speaks to him

wahwah · 13/06/2010 20:58

How DARE you. Miss Hooley fair game, but leave Justin out of it.

AttillaTheHan · 13/06/2010 21:02

I started off absolutely hating mr tumble with a passion. I also could not stand Justin, However I think 'flooding' therapy must have worked with the constant re-runs thanks to dd and now I totally love Mr Tumble and will actually admit to watching episodes of something special on my own after dd has wandered off into another room

Have even graduated to gigglebiz now...

AttillaTheHan · 13/06/2010 21:04

Now if you were saying that about granny murray in 'Me too' i would be completely behind you. That woman has got to have the worst facial expressions in the whole of childrens tv programming.

ShadeofViolet · 13/06/2010 21:04

YABVVVVVU.

Mr Tumble is God in our house!

8rubberduckies · 13/06/2010 21:05

YEEEEEEEEUUCCCCHHHH to Mr Tumble. My son loves Something Special, but I dislike him so intensely in every way that my dp winds me up all the time by saying Justin's my secret lover. I find him really creepy; he looks a little bit like he's made of ham, like David Cameron does.

YANBU.

lottiejenkins · 13/06/2010 21:16

Mr Tumble is a total god in our house. Justin Fletcher is so so so so fantastic. My ds is profoundly deaf and Mr T via Justin has brought signing to young hearing and non hearing disabled and non disabled children!!!

Shaz10 · 13/06/2010 21:17

I don't like Lord Tumble. He panders to stereotypes.

ThistleWhistle · 13/06/2010 21:22

suwoo was it Alfie Bear - "Hello, I'm Alfie, are you ready to play?" Bloody thing.

YABU to loathe Mr Tumble though, that's like blasphemy.

poppy34 · 13/06/2010 21:24

Am with you but agree that justin/something special is a big favourite here and It definitely seems to appea
more to dd than most stuff .

That said I could do without the imaginary conversations with mr tumble.

And am I the only one who thinks aunt sukie bears an uncanny resemblance to the laydees on little Britain?

Sidge · 13/06/2010 21:25

YABU. Mr Tumble is a genius.

How many people do you know who can sign, juggle and ride a unicycle?

mumbar · 13/06/2010 21:31

YADBU - he is a legend. Pupils in my school learn lots from it (SLD/PMLD school). Justin is great he came to one of our playschemes once and Mr T really is educational and fun. Even my DS is signing from watching it and uses it if he comes to school with me.

suwoo · 13/06/2010 21:36

Thistle, no, its a steering wheel driving thingymajig. Doesn't he do loads of voices for toys? He is the voice of our globe too.

BelfastBloke · 13/06/2010 21:37

I don't mind Mr Tumble.

But his spotty bag can fuck RIGHT off.

EdgeofReason · 13/06/2010 21:37

YANBU at all - he's a totally weird grown man. IMHO any bloke with receding hair should not be behaving like that.

I suspect that if you met him he swears like a trouper and smokes 40 a day.

SomeGuy · 13/06/2010 21:57

sorry but he's a lovely man and an example to us all.

Sn0wflake · 13/06/2010 21:59

He may be lovely and worthy and all that but it he is bloody annoying all the same.

porcamiseria · 13/06/2010 22:00

i remember\watching CBEE for the first time and I was HORRIFIED, YANBU

clarabella23 · 13/06/2010 22:04

I agree something special is a fab and worthwhile tv show, it does wonders for kids...but I HATE Mr Tumble! HATE HATE HATE! My daughter tried to introduce him as her imaginary friend once...bleurgh!!It's when you hear them say "oh Mr Tumble....", it sets my teeth on edge. Yuk.
