To have an irrational loathing of Mr Tumble?

dippymare · 13/06/2010 20:16

Am I alone in finding Mr Tumble INTENSELY annoying to the point that I have to leave the room when I hear his voice? Or maybe I just watch too much Cbeebies. And while I'm having a premenstrual rant, Miss Hooley comes a close second...wink

I think Justin is creepy; Mr Tumble is cringe-making; and Gigglebiz is not remotely amusing or educational.

My DD (2.9) likes Something Special but not as much as she used to. I'm hoping she'll grow out of it.

While we're on the subject, I wish the entire cast of Balamory would take the ferry somewhere, anywhere else. And, that stupid cooking programme - I Can Cook? The taps in that kitchen are filthy - even DD noticed!

thederkinsdame · 13/06/2010 22:15

Suwoo, does it say 'A is for Ape' which actually sounds like 'eight' and 'B is for bee' (which is nonsensical if you say it out loud!) Oh, I remember it well. It got the heave-ho from our house ASAP

thederkinsdame · 13/06/2010 22:16

But, I should say that I am very fond of Saint Justin of Tumble, as is DS.

matumble · 13/06/2010 22:16

YABU if you think its irrational!

AngM74 · 13/06/2010 22:20

I agree, Mr Tumble is very very very very very annoying! I also can't stand Gigglebiz but my 4 year loves it. Why is it that every time I turn cbeebies on Gigglebiz is on.

I heard a story (not sure whether it's true) that he was spotted in our local M&S store and a)wasn't very pleased at being recognised and b) doesn't really like children

Shaz10 · 13/06/2010 22:21

"B is for Bee" - I'm giggling away at that, it's brilliant!

elvislives · 13/06/2010 22:32

YABVU

We went to Wychwood last weekend just to see Justin.

Now Big Barn Farm, on the other hand..

BingumyAndThob · 13/06/2010 22:34

There is nothing irrational about loathing Mr Tumble

LoveBeing34 · 13/06/2010 22:40

I disagree about my tumble however I completely understand what you mean as I nearly started the exact same thread but about the children on the green balloon club. I can't help but loath them.

RustyBear · 13/06/2010 22:40

if your loathing is irrational, then you are by definition being unreasonable.

The question is, is it irrational to loathe Mr Tumble?

SpringHeeledJack · 13/06/2010 22:43

God this forum gets worse!

I have reported all of you

[tuts]

StealthPolarBear · 13/06/2010 22:53

I love gigglebiz!
does anyone else find it highly amusing to sing the theme tune in a northern irish accent?
just me then

oh...and i need something answering. why on something special, he signs, but when the girl is speaking there is nothing to indicate what she's sayng? or is it assumed you'd have the subtitles on if you needed them?

sevenkeystomysoul · 13/06/2010 23:02

YABU. DD loves Justin, and Mr Tumble. It's a fantastic, inclusive programme. Pre-schoolers are very accepting and don't see differences, if we can bring up our children to see people as people, regardless of disability, and CBeebies/Justin can help in that journey, what's not to like? DD's dad's best friend has a severely disabled DD, and DD doesn't see her any differently to other children, she's just xxxxx. It doesn't really matter if Justin does/doesn't like children in real life, he's just doing his job, and doing it well. My DD doesn't care/need to know, if in real life he calls himself Ethel and has a coke habit (not saying that he does of course...). Balamory disappeared from CBeebies in the South East ages ago, neither DD or I have missed it. Now that one, and in particular, PC Plum, I found quite disturbing...

Vegasmum . Love Mr Tumble give one that feel good factor to see his happy smiling face daily.

woopsidaisy · 14/06/2010 11:24

Love Mt Tumble here too! On other threads it has been said that he is absolutely fabulous with kids he meets. When filming he and the whole CBEEBIES team are supposed to be just amazing, and so kind to the kids.He has done so much for signing, and giving kids with SN some great programs. My DSs don't have SN but LOVED his shows. And his Cliff Tumble impersonation is hilarious! Nuff said!

jeee · 14/06/2010 11:28

Actually, I've earmarked Justin as being potential son-in-law material. I'd be very happy if any of my DDs brought him back home.

ilovesprouts · 14/06/2010 11:36

awwwh love mr tumble ..well my ds2 does ,not keen on miss hooley tho

Dizzydollybird · 14/06/2010 17:24

'Miss Hooley' got her baps out in an old Rab C Nesbit - I can't look at her in the same light, just feels creepy!!!

Loving Mr Tumble tho, he can do no wrong. I can now sign 'octopus' very well, never know when that might be handy

JackBauerDeservedAHappyEnding · 14/06/2010 18:01

YANBU. At All.

DD's love Justin and Mr Tumble and Gigglebiz.

I have to leave the room.

I am sure he is fantastic and wonderful with children and I think he is brilliant with all the SN awareness and work he has done.

Doesn't stop me thinking he's a gurning fucking twat though

dippymare · 14/06/2010 20:24

Have to echo you snowflake, he may do very commendable things like use sign and entertain our children but I still f**ing loathe him. Guess its a marmite thing
