Round here (a very well off area) of a few local ice cream vans two are known to teens as providing drugs. One has recently been arrested no action so far taken against other. Parked outside a local secondary school with kids with lots of pocket money and time on their hands before parent's return from work being an 'ice cream man with van' appears to be a perfect cover.

I would not ever buy ice cream from them.

They are unecessary but so are butchers, bakers, fishmongers.. but personally I like a bit of oldfashioned specialist shopping. Icecream vans are part of english heritage.

I only have a problem with them outside the school gates at 3.00. Not only do you hear loads of children cying and screaming because their parents won't let them have one, but the village shop loses out being a few yards further down the road. But I LOVE them at other times!

I meet DD straight from school on a Wednesday - the only day I can do that. Her fav treat is to get an ice cream.

I love Wednesdays and walking her home with big ice cream while she chats nonsense about her day is lovely.
