No unnecessary capitals please.

LetThereBeRock · 11/06/2010 19:09

I want an ice cream now. A 99 cone or a double nougat.

I do have a Twister and a Cadbury's caramel cone in the fridge. They'll have to do.

shoshe · 11/06/2010 19:15

I have one a doubloe cone with TWO FLAKES ice cream man stops right outside.

LetThereBeRock · 11/06/2010 19:17

No raspberry sauce?

shoshe · 11/06/2010 19:18

yes all down my cleavage (and its a big cleavage.

Hassled · 11/06/2010 19:22

All ice-cream vans are driven by men who could well pass as a paedophile in a paedophile line-up. They just have a look about them.

But where else can you get a lager&lime lolly? Or sprinkles on a 99? Or something that turns a small child's poo blue? Valuable role, IMO.

shoshe · 11/06/2010 19:24

My Icecream man, is my tenants Dad, he gives me a big one.

Botbot · 11/06/2010 19:26

Our ice cream van is Rossi's. As in Francis Rossi, out of Status Quo. His family, apparently.

Botbot · 11/06/2010 19:27

Bet you're all jealous

elliemental · 11/06/2010 19:29

our local ice cream man lives 2 doors away,. Wwhich means he has always finished by the time he gets home, so we never get one I've never seen him round here selling.

i reckon he's a drug runner, personally.(taps nose) I bet he has codewords and that. Sherbert top? Larverly!

what tune do they play on the bongly bonglys round your way? we have the can can, is surreal.

shoshe · 11/06/2010 19:29

ooooh one of my Mindees Mums was recording with Status Quo this week, they signed a photo for my step Dragon (that got me in the good books)

Shodan · 11/06/2010 19:30

I have no objection to ice cream vans.

I do, however have an objection to The Bloody Blue Danube being played every single day at half past four.

I know where that van lives, you know. As soon as I've completed a course in advanced Ice Cream Van Mechanics And Electronics I will be down there, in the dead of night, tinkering with its whatsits and creating Peace And Harmony for me all.

pointydog · 11/06/2010 19:41

I can sing the tune for you but I don't think it's a well-known piece of musak. Sound slike some hurdy gurdy eatsern european folk song.

pointydog · 11/06/2010 19:42

when I hear it, I do a dance to it that is a cross between morris and irish

SleepyCaz · 11/06/2010 19:46

Only common people spell it 'peopel'.

KodakTheBat · 11/06/2010 19:47

Ours comes at 4.45pm. What a ridiculous time. Who should I write to about that...?

Morloth · 11/06/2010 19:55

onebatmother, I grew up on a sheep station. There isn't any part of an animal I wont eat. Is wasteful otherwise.

Grind it up and whack it in a sausage (or whatever) and I will chuck it down no worries.

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 11/06/2010 19:56

Our icecream van is a necessity. We love "Fran, Fran the icecream woMAN" And she sells popping candy. And she parks right outside our house. And her van smells clean.

Morloth · 11/06/2010 19:58

Popping candy is the bomb.

cloelia · 11/06/2010 19:59

We live in the country. Our vans sell the most delicious Cornish ice cream. They park, you visit, no bells, no noises, just lovely ice cream. And our local company employs students in the holidays. Willy's is the business!!

GrimmaTheNome · 11/06/2010 20:08

Our van has is driven by a nice man (probably a granddad) and sells local Bonds of Elswick icecream. Small 99 (with sauce) for a quid, flushes all the kids out of the houses on a saturday afternoon. Plays the Westminster Chimes, which is trad yet not too naff.

What's not to like?

scaryteacher · 11/06/2010 20:09

They sell the most fabulous ice cream from the ice cream vans in Belgium. The mocha chocolate combination is fab, and the straciatella is pretty good too.

thecatatemygymsuit · 11/06/2010 20:10

completely unreasonable!
Mr Whippy is the nuts

CantSupinate · 11/06/2010 20:10

The local van is a lot cheaper than the corner shop, and our freezer compt. is too small to maintain a consistent supply of ice lollies, so...
ROFL @ Surprise.

thecatatemygymsuit · 11/06/2010 20:11

even sadder, I noted my post is #99, so I'll have a flake with that!
