DH has been trying to settle DD (4 months) to sleep for the last half hour. She is shrieking at the top of her lungs and is not settling. I know she will settle with me but this always leads to a massive row as DH accuses me of taking over. The way I see it is that the goal is to get DD to sleep in a pleasant manner, not a point scoring exercise and a battle as to who can settle her best.

She is very overtired and his method of trying to settle her does not work (patting her in the cot) but he will not listen to what I tell him to do (take her our and sit her upright against him) he just wants to do it his way.

She sounds as if she is being murdered, no, we will have to have the row cos I can't leave it any longer.

Fibilou - how did it go tonight?

Oh Filibou I just read that he stopped you going to her. I am so sorry that happened to you and her.

I'm not judging you or any descision that you would make after that happened, but I personally could not risk that happening again.

To me it sounds as tho your DH is trying to control you and your daughter. It also sounds as tho you are at least a small amount afraid of him.

Please have a look at this

Its a check list, I could be way off here, I hope I am but Its very worthwhile checking your circumstances against the list. That particular site also tells you how to hide your computer history. I suspect he might not be too happy if he thought you were talking about him on here and I would hate that to cause you more problems.

I hope you are ok. If you want to talk I'm here for a bit... and always back later, as are people with far better people skills than me...........

I take back what I said Fiblou. Sounds like an unbelievable cock rather than a 'left out in the cold' dad

sorry you have to put up with this
