Or not?

backto - you are a very strange person.

muddleduck · 26/05/2010 13:32

I was referring to the 'compile' thing.
She is clearly upset over this. Why make that worse for a few cheap laughs?

CatIsSleepy · 26/05/2010 13:33

hully you are chris morris and I claim my five pounds

Francagoestohollywood · 26/05/2010 13:35

What's the other thread you are all talking about?

I just thought this was a thread about the typical fear of nurseries, which is rampant on MN.

Hullygully · 26/05/2010 13:37

Muddle - eh? I thought it was a real word they used. I liked it.

DeFluffy - I posted on a nursery thread? Really? I really am going mad then. No memory of that at all.

Offended People - I really am not interested in arguing with people, I never do it. I wanted a laugh, why stay here if you find it all so offensive? Go be po elsewhere.

muddleduck · 26/05/2010 13:37

PMSL at Chris Morris in a dull blue dress

Hullygully · 26/05/2010 13:38

Nothing dull about blue dresses.

AnnieBeansMum · 26/05/2010 13:38

I think I jumped in and posted far too quickly. Paedo-mania sometimes grips MN and no man is safe. I thought this was what Hully was referring to. I certainly didn't mean to add to the offence. I shall just scuttle off now....

Sarey1 · 26/05/2010 13:39

I agree with Wannabe - some people here have acted like schoolgirls tittering behind someone's back. They should grow up.

backtotalkaboutthis · 26/05/2010 13:39

Fab I do agree with you on this

what I'm finding amusing is the fact that people think anything is funny -- until they are called on it

and then they come over all outraged

that's what I find amusing

muddleduck · 26/05/2010 13:39

ok my take on it was that she got the wrong end of the stick over it all and so was upset. she was convinced that you were taking the piss.

can't see why she might have thought that

What muddleduck says at 13:20:30. Jokes about people seeing paedos everywhere are funny. Deliberate digs at posters who have already been upset are not.

backto - apologies for what I said. Obviously misunderstood you.

Hullygully · 26/05/2010 13:41

Muddle, I am no clearer, but then apparently I have posted on threads without being aware of it, so hey, perhaps I insulted her whilst in a MP state.

'Offended People - I really am not interested in arguing with people, I never do it. I wanted a laugh, why stay here if you find it all so offensive? Go be po elsewhere.'

It's been said before, and will no doubt be said again, but perhaps you shouldn't post in AIBU if you haven't got a very thick skin?

Hullygully · 26/05/2010 13:43

Agent - do you mean humour is banned in AIBU? Another rule that passed me by.

Oh me. So many.

Isn't it simply that we are not yet used to the idea?

HULLY! You posted the above on the thread of doom Not quite sure why you don't remember, you know how to check threads you're on I think...

I think everyone gets that you're not joking about the abuse itself, rather the hysteria about the abuse that Brass Eye highlighted. However, as people posted on that thread that had been abused and it was an interesting thread with people sharing thoughts etc then this was an unpleasant thread to start. To say its not linked is really silly.

Anyway, just because 'someone is wrong on the internet' I can't stay and chat, things to do. Enjoy.

itsybitsy08 · 26/05/2010 14:03

YAB slightlyU, bit below the belt.
Its sad but alot of people are paranoid about abusers being everywhere. (Usually with some reason behind this thought)
Taking the piss isnt really funny imho.
I see your point - no offence and its meant to lighthearted but
The op of other thread is probably going to be very upset if they see this...
And many people who have experience of abuse. Its not really a laughing matter.

Hullygully · 26/05/2010 15:05

DeFluffy - omg, so I did. I had quite forgot (scary.)I didn't read the thread tho, just hit and run.

And how v reasonable I was too.

OP posts:
backtotalkaboutthis · 26/05/2010 15:40

no problem Fab, I was so unclear I almost didn't understand myself

btw I don't think it's hard to understand that this is poking fun at parents who are more nervous of child abuse in nurseries following recent child abuse in nurseries

it's not that hard to get, though still quite difficult to understand why it's funny

Hullygully · 26/05/2010 15:43

Never mind. One finds constantly through life that one person's funny is another person's not. Celery.

RunawayWife · 26/05/2010 15:44

Hully YABU they are not all working in nursery's some are cub leaders, gym teachers and priest.....
