To be shocked by the nasty bullying style of some of the threads on MN.

Having just read the thread about whether or not we should be ok about male nusery workers taking DDs to the toilet I have to say I am completely shocked at the aggressive, bullying comments that the poor OP received. FWIW I agree that we should not discriminate against males working in childcare but think that a lot of the battering comments were frankly out of order! As I read the thread I had that sick feeling that I recognised from my schooldays when I witnessed someone being bullied! I'm new to MN and have found a lot of the info and threads helpful but am so disappointed that, instead of finding a source that I had hoped would be non-judgemental and supportive, I have just connected myself to more of that cynical nastiness that I am so fed-up with on fb and in the media!

OP posts:

WombFrootShoot · 26/05/2010 14:46

I used to be on a board once and some weirdo poster came on and said that they were "Writing a report on our disgusting behaviour" Of course we tracked him down and ate the soft parts.

Fuck fuck fuckity fuck fuck and fuck.

Oops sorry I have tourettes

My son has suspected ts. Not a nice condition. Only 15% of people with ts have Coprolalia. Comments like this don't help tbh.

WombFrootShoot · 26/05/2010 14:54

RunawayWife · 26/05/2010 14:56

I also take the piss out of a one legged woman in a wheelchair every week!!!!

nobodyisasomebody · 26/05/2010 14:58

No I haven't seen you post before, but we are currently investigating ts for my son along with a myriad of other conditions so sorry to be touchy but it is a hard place to be right now.

BritFish · 26/05/2010 15:01

tbh, i dont see whats wrong with people saying things they wouldnt have the guts to say in real life, it encourages people to speak out when somethings wrong, and it is AIBU, so you should be expected to be told that YABU.

although when it resorts to personal attacks and name calling, its kinda stupid. you can tell someone what they are doing is ridiculous in your opinion, but you cant call them a sloppy bunny boiling neglectful hysterical cow, because thats not being constructive.

WombFrootShoot · 26/05/2010 15:02

That's tough nobody - have you got a support thread going somewhere? You should do one if you haven't.

We were just joking around a bit. (I have never indulged in cannabalism)

nobodyisasomebody · 26/05/2010 15:05

No, no support thread. Too much information would be identifying as he really is a unique case with lots going on.

Do I get to report your post then Runaway?

RunawayWife · 26/05/2010 15:06

Nobody, DS1 is not 14, got DX about 4 years ago, started ticking at 7 so it was a long haul. He is also AS and very bright at 11 he was IQ tested and came out with a 148 IQ.

He was bullied at primary school to the point of wanting to kill himself and being refured to CHAMS. He still puts up with as he calls it a whole lot of ugly from a long line of stupid

HOWEVER as a family we have learned to embrace his condition (he does not swear by the way) it is part of who he is.

He heard me swearing at the PC a few years back and said "mum I think you have caught my tourettes" so it is kind of an in joke, I just forget not everyone is in on it.

Sorry to have come across as flippant, I am around a lot if you ever want to talk, good luck with your son.

WFS twas the babyamy thread. I was wholly dismayed to see they had just vanished just like that. I was intrigued by LA.
NIAS are you serious? Are we starting all over again?

WombFrootShoot · 26/05/2010 15:07

I think that you are probably narcissitic actually TSC.

(Feel free to report me)
