Fruit shoots are evil............

posieparker · 25/05/2010 10:16

So I never buy the things, but yesterday all children were thirsty and I hadn't prepared by taking water. Anyway the shop I chose to go in ONLY had fruit shoots with a good lid thingy, no water, no juice, no milkshake....NO alternative.

Now my dcs didn't go crazy with the mythical sugar rush......but dc4 has just found one that he must have thrown under something and squeezed it all over my lounge carpet. EVIL EVIL THINGS!!!

Lol at all the fruit shoot snobs. They're not THAT bad you know!

porcamiseria · 25/05/2010 13:15

youd rather let your kids go thirsty than have a sugary drink????

fuck me, thats absaloutely ridiculous

PRECIOUS !!!!

thesunshinesbrightly · 25/05/2010 13:15

Oh i couldn't possibly answer your question Dancergirl it appear's you are not allowed your own opinion on a discussion board.

thesunshinesbrightly · 25/05/2010 13:18

I don't need to let my kid's go thirsty because i'm prepared! So shoot me!! oh for the love of god.

honeydragon · 25/05/2010 13:21

i forgot about the carpet! sorry posie.

thats another pet hate, there is always always enough left in them tp sill/dribble somewhere.

i did not realise how much i detest them for so many reasons till you started this thread

tocata come back and calm me down i need intervention therapy again

toccatanfudge · 25/05/2010 13:21

I'm far too human to be able to be prepared all the time

honeydragon · 25/05/2010 13:22

to spill/ dribble - sorry feeding baby bad @ typing with 1 hand

toccatanfudge · 25/05/2010 13:23

oh I find DS3 finishing off the dregs of my cans of Dr Pepper and spilling those far worse than the fruit shoots

yessirnosir · 25/05/2010 13:23

While I empathise with the carpet, and do agree Vanish is your best bet, may I weigh in on the judgey, judgies? I was in a queue at a cafe at a softplay area the other day where a mother very loudly announced, 'no, you may not have a fruitshoot, we don't have fruitshoots, not in our house anyway.' Now while the 'no' was for the child, the rest was most definitely for the rest of the queue, who she cast a knowing look over to check we were all fuitshoot free, upstanding citizens. Well my DD1 is diabetic and I have been known to give her the low sugar fruitshoots on occassion because it's a whole lot better for her than full sugar squash. On that occassion DD1 wasn't with me and I wasn't buying a fruitshoot, but had I been I'd have been pretty embarrassed, which is the only outcome I can see from someone being so loudly opinionated. Obviously my situation is pretty specific, but the thing is when we all go about with our judgey looks and rantings about anything, we have no idea of the story of people around us, so keep it to yourself hey? Fruitshoots may be bought by people who have carefully thought out the pros and cons and decided they're the best thing for the occassion, they may be being bought by people who have no idea that any qualatative judgement would be attached to them, but it's really none of your business. Don't give your own kids fruitshoots and shut up.

Except on here of course, where everyone is entitled to air their own opinions.

cupcakesandbunting · 25/05/2010 13:24

They made my 2 year old try to nut me. He's having nowt from now on that isn't plain water.

(he's currently screeching at me for a cup of Pepsi Max )

Morloth · 25/05/2010 13:24

Sometimes DS1 has a sip of my Diet Coke and the other day we made root beer floats, OMG it is all over for him now isn't it?

toccatanfudge · 25/05/2010 13:25

corrr blimey you should consider yourself lucky cupcake that your 2yr old only tries to nut you after having a fruitshoot...........DS3 does it all the time regardless of what he's been eating/drinking

toccatanfudge · 25/05/2010 13:26

yuck to the root beer floats

honeydragon · 25/05/2010 13:26

i dropped dr pepper on the dog once - took 3 months before the stain went

knowing it can stain a labrador like that still hasn't stopped me drinking it though

i've probably got brown internal organs

Morloth · 25/05/2010 13:28

Madness toccata it was like being 6 again myself.

toccatanfudge · 25/05/2010 13:28

DS3 got hold of a can of Dr Pepper the other week and started shaking it vigrously.........unopened, I spotted him doing it and tried to get it off him but he chucked it on the wooden floor and it burst, split straight down the side and it went EVERYWHERE.......including down between the floorboards..........I can still smell it when I'm lying on the sofa next to the worst spot

kitcat1977 · 25/05/2010 13:29

Guess what? My DD will be allowed a Coke occasionally (as long as she doesn't spill it on the bloody carpet!)

toccatanfudge · 25/05/2010 13:29

oh no I've never liked the stuff Morloth - blurgh

cupcakesandbunting · 25/05/2010 13:29

Toccata, do you want to pit your DS against mine in a baby wrestling match like those chav lovely mothers did a few years back?

I've got a YouTube account...

kitcat1977 · 25/05/2010 13:29

Oops, X-post with Morloth.

toccatanfudge · 25/05/2010 13:30

oh I don't think he qualifies anymore - he turned 3 yesterday

(otherwise he would have whooped your DS's arse)

honeydragon · 25/05/2010 13:30

heh heh - your dr pepper exploded at least mine just fountained

Morloth · 25/05/2010 13:31

But what about the lovely foam you get on top, which looks exactly like ocean pollution?

cupcakesandbunting · 25/05/2010 13:32

Oh no, mine turned 3 on the 9th. He was 2 when he tried to give me a Glasgow kiss

Get in the ring, Toccatan's bairn!

Naetha · 25/05/2010 13:33

I'm going to ignore the fruit shoot silliness, and go straight to the stain removal...

I just managed to squish a blackberry (the fruit kind, not the mobile kind) into my lovely beige carpet, and this got the mark out within about 2 minutes of scrubbing.

I bought mine from Morrisons with a 4 pack of fruit shoots.
