That's it really, I can't see why some of you feel the need to be nasty/judgemental/vindictive and bitchy to some of the posters on here.

Some of what I read, I would class as bullying and we all know bullies have inferiority complexes and/or self loathing.

I thought we were all grown ups ? If you have children and they see you act like this at home then you are setting a terrible example.

This is not the school play ground, I think some of you need to grow up and realise it's not cool to be a bully.

I think Mumsnet should change it's name to BITCHNET !

OP posts:
pigletmania · 22/05/2010 10:38

Yes I have been accused as being a troll in the past, fortunately never really accounted any nastiness but yes people who have strong opinions who sort of put me in my place. Well thats what its all about, at the end you can agree to disagree . Things dont always come to a harmoneous conculsion.

drloves · 22/05/2010 10:39

some people are nice , some people are vile .dont take it as personal, usually if someone is getting snipy and personal they are losing the plot argument point of the discussions.

Meglet · 22/05/2010 10:39

kitty Am loving 'MN Massive'.

OP, I think if someone isn't aware that MN can be very honest then some replies can be seen as nasty. But the majority of the time they are not being at all nasty they just don't have the time to sugar coat a response.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/05/2010 10:39

that sounds like I am saying I made personal comments, I didn't, she did.

pigletmania · 22/05/2010 10:39

mamasparkle i dont agree with that at all noway that is not on, poor granny. Bless her she probably could give good sound advice.

porcamiseria · 22/05/2010 10:53

I have said this before, you CANNOT compare bullying to silly disputes on a website forum

so fucking bored of this now

expatinscotland · 22/05/2010 10:55

What porca said.

runnybottom · 22/05/2010 10:55

Thats probably because she was quite obviously a troll.

DuelingFanjo · 22/05/2010 11:03

Welcome to Mumsnet Ilovemash

pigletmania · 22/05/2010 11:09

Well if you post on here AIBU you do get them you really do, but if you post in the other forums they are usually quite tame helpful:-)

pigletmania · 22/05/2010 11:11

meant understanding

mamasparkle · 22/05/2010 11:19

why obviously a troll?maybe just a lady who was new to the site?

CantSupinate · 22/05/2010 11:21

All of the Internet is bitchy. The only websites that aren't bitchy are heavily moderated with weird and inconsistently applied rules about how you talk to each other.

At least MNers have an ace sense of humour in their bitchiness.

Lulumaam · 22/05/2010 11:25

i saw that thread too mamasparkle... i think it was more a case of, if you have advice to offer, offer it on a thread, rather than holding yourself up as an oracle.. thre are lots of experienced paretns and grandparens and childcarers on here...

cory · 22/05/2010 11:27

I think some of us are absolutely charming! Little sweeties that you would simply have to cuddle if you met us in the street. So there!

pigletmania · 22/05/2010 11:27

If i want advice I go on the other threads tbh, AIBU is renowned for its squabbling heaving discussions. I go on here for a laugh and to offer some advice if asked for

sobloodystupid · 22/05/2010 11:27

MN has been a great source of support and info for me. I have posted on here when really down or upset- some posters told me to cop on: others were a little more supportive .
I have had "rows" with people on here and stormed away from the laptop . There are posters whom I lurve and others not so much. Why wouldn't there be bitchy people on here, are mums exempt from this ?
All human life is here...

BetsyLittleson · 22/05/2010 11:31

I saw that thread too. She never did answer me on how to stop ds2 screaming like he's being killed whenever I drop ds1 and dd2 off at preschool!

I can't take anyone seriously when they bleat about bullying on forums like this. It belittles the experienes of people who have really suffered at the hands of bullies.

MN is one of the least bitchy sites I have come across. Elsewhere might look fluffy on the surface but there are seams of pure evil running through them... well hidden but definitely there. MN has none of that that I have seen and I've been lurking and occasionally posting for years.

So, OP, YABU.

backtotalkaboutthis · 22/05/2010 11:32

same as real life, some vile, many lovely, quite a few stupid, some very well informed

2shoes · 22/05/2010 11:36

yabu
and I ssume you have no idea what bullying actually is

OrmRenewed · 22/05/2010 11:37

Yes I am really nasty. I practice in front of the mirror.

backtotalkaboutthis · 22/05/2010 11:38

snigger at orm

elmofan · 22/05/2010 11:44

op - what you class as "bullying" though i would class as some posters just being blunt .

ABatInBunkFive · 22/05/2010 11:46

Not read the rest of the thread.

click. x. off. you. fuck.

oh and Bullying? One comment does not a bully make.

backtotalkaboutthis · 22/05/2010 11:47

oh come on there definitely is not exactly lynching but an element of mobbery in people not thinking for themselves and jumping on attack bandwagons

have seen that, but you know
