To get frustrated with the sheer volume of abbreviations on this forum? I can deal with DH, DP, DC etc (although it grates to be honest "Darling Child" ) but every time I look in I see another set of initials that leave me clueless.
Is it that people are slow typists?

Whatwasthatagain

Oh no that means Bytheway has posted a meaningless acronym somewhere randomly on a thread.

My northern mother was always very fond of the saying 'Ooooh 'ark at the pot' if she thought I said something pretentious or uppity.

BythewayItsStillMe · 20/05/2010 17:38

Argh, Pedro! You made me look silly!

Have you found me yet?

arsesandoldlace · 20/05/2010 17:51

Worst one for me is "pg" for "pregnant".

Surely it should just be "P" or "PN"?

It's not Pre - Gnant,i.e. Before Gnant is it.

thumbwitch · 20/05/2010 18:06

no, but p and g are the two outstanding consonants in the word, so it does kind of make sense. I always use it because I don't like the word pregnant, neither the look nor the sound of it (no idea why, it's an oddity of mine)

No -

[matchsticks in eyes]

All acronyms blur into one after a while. Please tell me! Please! I will give you my undying devotion if you do!

BythewayItsStillMe · 21/05/2010 08:11

Really? undying...?

I'll think about it... Off to work now, a good place to do thinking....

TTFN... bleurgh, hate that one too.

There was a girl used to work in Pimlico Tesco's with FOAD tattooed on her knuckles

it evidently meant Fuck Off And Die but her employers mustn't've clocked it

...or maybe they had
