To get frustrated with the sheer volume of abbreviations on this forum? I can deal with DH, DP, DC etc (although it grates to be honest "Darling Child" ) but every time I look in I see another set of initials that leave me clueless.
Is it that people are slow typists?

nope, just found it - it's WIMBEWAIF and WIMBEWAINF. Something to do with conception. But still doesn't explain what it stands for.

pedrothellama · 19/05/2010 12:57

It could be worse - they could use text speak. I wouldn't have a clue - to me it is something that the Enigma codebreaker should be working on.

freebirdx · 19/05/2010 12:59

yabu. it saves time, and as i am lurking at work, when i post i like to make it quick.

Fluffyone · 19/05/2010 13:02

LOL! Quick to type and slow to read then.

Downdog · 19/05/2010 13:03

I mainly use OH.
DD is ok I guess, but DP makes me squirm

BythewayItsStillMe · 19/05/2010 13:08

I want to know what WIMBEWAIF means now....

Thanks thumbwitch, something else for me to ponder!

Poledra · 19/05/2010 13:09

Upon Googling, Thumbwitch, I can find:

WIBAMU Well, I'll Be A Monkey's Uncle

WDYMBT What Do You Mean By That?

WYGISWYPF What You Get Is What You Pay For

but no WIMBEWAIN, which I swear I've seen somewhere too.

Fluffyone · 19/05/2010 13:09

Got that flipping song going through my head now...

OP posts:
Poledra · 19/05/2010 13:09

I Google too slowly....

Poledra · 19/05/2010 13:16

Found it!!

Where Is My Baby Exactly When All Is (Not) Fine?

God, I need to get a life...........

TheConstantIroner · 19/05/2010 13:18

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/1366/565939, though still none the wiser!

AndieWalsh · 19/05/2010 13:19

Come over to the SEN boards (that's special educational needs). It's a whole other world of acronyms and abbreviations.

Heck, I could even give you some advice on to how to get the LEA to do a SA for your SN child (who hasn't got a DX) and how to claim DLA, get in touch with IPSEA and access support from an OT, SALT or even an EP.

biddysmama · 19/05/2010 13:19

aaah, ok so for people ttc without problems but still not concieving ?

ooojimaflip · 19/05/2010 13:40

YABU IWBNFA so FTFO.

Fluffyone · 19/05/2010 13:41

Funnily enough, I understand all the SEN acronyms, because I am a clerk to governors for several schools.

Maybe we should try to make GYAC happen again.

pedrothellama · 19/05/2010 13:41

Bytheway - can you say it in a Yorkshire accent so I will recogonise it?
