that's it really, I was really shocked and went into a bit of a rant. I can't believe someone I've been intimate with and been close to would vote bnp.

OP posts:
missmoopy · 02/05/2010 23:29

daftpunk - so he has to just accept you are a racist because you aren't having an affair, a murderer or beating him (I assume these are worse?)

scottishmummy · 02/05/2010 23:30

politics, attitudinal beliefs define shape relationships.usually one has concordant views with partner about the big stuff that matters.like ones moral baseline

only you and susia seem able to tolerate glaring incongruities
jewish girl, bnp man
mixed man, bnp girl

carolondon · 02/05/2010 23:31

I am surprised that during the argument they had about voting BNP that she didn't mention she was jewish. Would that not have been the perfect time? Especially as she asked him if he would be with her if she was black. Why not ask the same question about being Jewish. His reaction then would have made her mind up for her.

scottishmummy · 02/05/2010 23:32

maybe susia looking for calendar to find date to tell man she is jewish

marriednotdead · 02/05/2010 23:32

It sounds like the last in a series of last straws tbh. You don't make him sound like an attractive proposition, even without his political stance. You seem happy enough with who you are so how is he enhancing your life? Time to move on...

daftpunk · 02/05/2010 23:35

I think it's a bit different if you have just meet someone or are in the early stages of a relationship...then yes, if you find out yr partner is BNP, you probably would run...but if you have been together for yrs, and maybe have dc..then to walk out just because yr partner decides to vote BNP for whatever reason...that's crazy.

RowlfTheDog · 02/05/2010 23:37

I wondered why this thread had so many posts. Because it's been hijacked. Again. This makes mn rather dull.

Daftpunk- why don't you start your own thread? Or perhaps ask Justine for a Bigots section so you can stay there and people can hide it?

scottishmummy · 02/05/2010 23:37

previously sane man votes bnp.justified to leave him.hell yes.and take children too.

Kaloki · 02/05/2010 23:38

"but if you have been together for yrs, and maybe have dc..then to walk out just because yr partner decides to vote BNP for whatever reason...that's crazy."

No, you're right.. I'd send him to therapy first.

daftpunk · 02/05/2010 23:41

I think my dh is happy I'm not having an affair, beating him or planning his murder.. (he likes the quiet life)...he can live with me voting BNP...only happens once every 4 yrs after all...

Of course, he could be having an affair and planning my murder,

Hmmmm

missmoopy · 02/05/2010 23:42

I would not want my dd to be around a man who voted BNP. I would end the relationship because I no longer trust his integrity. It wouldn't happen though as my dh is NOT a c**t.

carolondon · 02/05/2010 23:42

Daftpunk it is easy for me to say i would walk away as i know it could never happen (DH Jewish). It would be very hard to leave after being together for years, however i don't think people change their views that dramatically overnight so i would imagine that they would always have had a leaning towards the extreme right which would have put me off from the beginning.

I would dump a BNP supporter because i could not tolerate their views. It would impact on my every day life as i have a gay brother who i am very close to and i work in an extremely multicultural school with many different races including many children of immigrants.

KillerCleavage · 02/05/2010 23:42

I find it annoying that this thread has become all about his intention to vote for the BNP. I know it's in the thread title but it has since been said by the OP that he's controlling and has been sacked from his job as a prison officer for bullying an inmate. The race of the inmate is immaterial.

The man is a controlling bully whose bullying has seen him sacked from a secure job. That's all that needs to be said.

scottishmummy · 02/05/2010 23:43

Rowlf, god poor you enduring another tedius mn thread, you have bigger conspiracy fish to fry heh.

mn hijacked?by whom
dull,oh diddums shame you bored

missmoopy · 02/05/2010 23:47

I agree with killer to a degree, although think BNP vote is hugely relevant - BUT the fact he is also controlling and a bully (at home and in workplace) is worrying and should make OP stop and think.

All three things combined add up to one toxic man.

RowlfTheDog · 02/05/2010 23:52

Do people find that threads about the BNP improve the place? They are fucking boring- no two ways about it.

daftpunk · 02/05/2010 23:53

Carolondon;

Yes, I agree that people don't usually change dramatically, however, I used to vote Labour, I was almost crying with delight when they won in 97'..

I vote BNP now.

Not boring at all, but very important political discussions that just may educate people. I personally feel it is vital that ignorance and bigotry does not go unchallenged. Rowlf, if you don't feel the same, thats fine, but don't piss on others ideology. If the BNP got into power I am sure you would have something to say.

scottishmummy · 02/05/2010 23:55

who made you editor in chief?posters free to discuss any topic

plenty topics i dont fancy (so dont post)but i dont rock up squawking this is so duuuuull

daftpunk · 02/05/2010 23:56

RDT;

There's an election in 4 days....er, think that's why there's so many political threads atm....possibly ?...maybe ?

missmoopy · 02/05/2010 23:57

Having previously worked in prisons for years I know that there has to be substantial and significant evidence to get rid of a PO. He sounds like an animal.

missmoopy · 02/05/2010 23:58

bloody hell daftpunk good point for once!

daftpunk · 03/05/2010 00:01

Where..?

Where is my good point..?

I am not pointless after all....
