ask MNHQ to put a stop on your membership for a couple of weeks - I did that recently when I was swamped with work.

ChippingIn · 01/05/2010 12:52

LOL @ cornsilk - where is your willpower woman??

runaway - what's the speed limit on a country road for a 2 ton truck carrying milk?

RunawayWife · 01/05/2010 12:54

Chipping is that a real question, oh shit where did I put that book

cornsilk · 01/05/2010 12:56

LOL chipping I caved in earlier than I had hoped!

iamfabregasted · 01/05/2010 12:58

What is the stopping distance in the rain at 30mph?

ChippingIn · 01/05/2010 13:11

cornsilk - when you find your willpower, can you please ask if mine eloped with it - it's definitely gone AWOL

Runaway - I'm waiting.....

EccentricaGallumbits · 01/05/2010 13:13

there was no point in suspending my menmbership while i procrastinate study. i'd still be abl to read stuff even if i wasn't allowed to post.

I let myself pop in to have a looksy in between study. it's my break and very important!

ChippingIn · 01/05/2010 13:18

EG - don't you find though that it just steals time... I think 'OK half an hour' and it's always way more than an hour before I even look at the clock again! Then it's OK well, another 15 mins then I must go... OK another 10 then if I do xyz quickly I can have another 20 mins... sigh, really do need to get a life...

EccentricaGallumbits · 01/05/2010 16:52

no. i limit myself very strictly (ish)

EccentricaGallumbits · 01/05/2010 16:52

see look at that - nearly 4 hours between posts!

nipersvest · 01/05/2010 16:55

step away, it's a vipers nest, no good can be had from here.

porcamiseria · 01/05/2010 18:18

just read highway code cover to cover ten times. I did it 3 times (passed every time,m just took a looong time to get practical) and last time I got 100%

also do the web based tests!

mumbar · 01/05/2010 18:26

heres a plan - take porcamiseias advice and do some web tests while your on net then come back and tell us how you did so we can congratulate you and you don't get withdrawal symptoms!!!

RunawayWife · 01/05/2010 19:14

did the theory test on line thing and got 97 out of a 100 but I am hopeless with stopping distances and speed limits

If you see a horse coming up to a roundabout will it go a) left b) right or c) in any direction?

True question DH had on his...

NetworkGuy · 01/05/2010 21:15

If you use Firefox there's an add-on called Leechblock which allows you to set "opening hours" when you are allowed to view specific sites, to stop addictive interesting ones from "leeching" all your time.

ChippingIn · 02/05/2010 12:34

NG - gawd, don't they think of everything!! I am sure it would be a good idea - but I'd only switch it off if I wanted to MN!!

NetworkGuy · 02/05/2010 13:37

Now you know why I never got round to installing it!

ChippingIn · 03/05/2010 11:37

I am logging off at 12....

.
.
.
or so......

NetworkGuy · 03/05/2010 18:57

you mean you were on from 12:34 Sunday to around 12:00 Monday ? Naughty, naughty!

ChippingIn · 04/05/2010 00:09

No, no no no no no.... it was about 11.20 when I logged on and I was intending to log off at 12..... (ahem, intending).

thumbwitch · 04/05/2010 00:19

chippingIn, that is my problem as well - "just another 5 mins, honest, then I really will go and do the Really Important Stuff I have to do..."

ChippingIn · 04/05/2010 00:22

Yep, I thought I will log off at 12, so around 40 mins, when I next looked it was already 12.30 - the time just zoooooms by!!

thumbwitch · 04/05/2010 00:26

Amazing how long it takes to "just read a few posts", isn't it

ChippingIn · 04/05/2010 12:10

Right, just logged on, I would limit myself to an hour - but really, who am I kidding!!
