Like most people my dd and ds share a room we have a two bed, they love sharing but we will when they are older have to divide the room and get by, as we simply can not afford to buy a 3 bed house.

I am very grateful for what we have and in a way it could be worse I get on with my life but do get angry with myself and wish I had planned my future better finacially, and gone into a decent career after I left school ,aibu.

No, I have never noticed spelling errors in your posts, Any. You are so right. I am changing my name to Sue .

My father was too old to go to VietNam.

But his father went to WWII, even though he was not a US citizen at the time.

My mother's dad did, too, that's how he wound up in that whole Normandy debacle.

southeastastra · 29/04/2010 23:28

lordy you pick a name like anyfucker yet have trouble dealing with people's problem with it??

lordy stick to your convictions or what is the point??

IAteABetaDadsBreadstick · 29/04/2010 23:29

AF - I'm usually DeFluff and various Defluff fanjo type guises. I have no fucking idea what's going on. Sea was really rude, then she got worse, then a bit 'worser' , then MTV came into it I think, then I think Usual thought my name was offensive but I'm not sure why (holds out friendship branch to Usual) and now... well, now I think we should sneak out together while no-one's looking

You go first

southeastastra · 29/04/2010 23:29

ha is this ww2 top trumps? ffs i thought better from you expat

I would like to think that later on in life I will be in a position to buy my own home.
I'm working towards it but circumstances seem to keep getting in the way. I've been made redundant twice in the last 18 months but it won't always be like this, will it?

You know that feeling when you just want to stop spinning the plates, drop everything and run? I feel like that. So no, YANBU.

AnyFucker can I have a swig of your whisky please?

It's the time of the month

BTW if you look closely, my name is a thinly disguised use of the word CUNT! Offensive? Moi?

AnyFucker · 29/04/2010 23:34

< hangs on to IAte's sleeve and sneaks out with her >

sea, you are not actually making any sense now

have you been drinking ? serious question ?

Sings, 'Lordy, lordy! Look who's 40' and then realises, 'Oh, shit, me in a few month's time!'

AnyFucker · 29/04/2010 23:38

Cain...do you know what ?

I never noticed the offensiveness in your name. And I have seen it lots of times!

AnyFucker · 29/04/2010 23:40

< forces two paracetamol and pint of water down sea's throat >

< starts preparing for morning fry-up >

GypsyMoth · 29/04/2010 23:40

i feel sorry for the OP,her thread has become a nightmare!

expatinscotland · 29/04/2010 23:40

I'll never own my own place here. But as long as the waster downstairs stays quiet . . .

AnyFucker · 29/04/2010 23:42

I know TBB

so very random

I wonder who started it...

expatinscotland · 29/04/2010 23:42

It was Sue, Any. It's all Sue's fault.

PainInTheCunt · 29/04/2010 23:47

A little less subtle but I like it!

I can't believe this version hasn't already been taken!

AnyFucker · 29/04/2010 23:49

< shields eyes >

PainInTheCunt · 29/04/2010 23:50

I'm sorry your thread has gone to the dogs happygolovely.

I'm also sorry that you are in the situation you are in. Don't give up hoping for better things.

mumblechum · 29/04/2010 23:50

It seems incredible now but when I was 21 my then boyfriend and I saved £15 a week for a year, got a £2k depostit and bought a 3 bed end of terrace for £21k. That was in 1984.

If/when ds gets to the housebuying stage I think dh & I are going to have to buy him one or at least a very large deposit, it's v v difficult for young ppl these days.

I think SEA's account may have been hacked, she's normally a nice person

expatinscotland · 29/04/2010 23:52

Hope so, mumble.

AnyFucker · 29/04/2010 23:52

she normally tells me off for my name, mumble, so no personality change there, tbh

I see what you mean though

expatinscotland · 29/04/2010 23:55

I dunno.

I feel for the OP, I do.

I have another option. My children have another option.

Others don't unless they acquire a skill.

I don't think the future for the UK is very good, tbh.

There's a mindset here, that people over 60 or thereabouts shouldn't work, and it's not going to go well, very soon.

PainInTheCunt · 30/04/2010 00:03

AnyFucker, You cannot seriously shield your eyes at me with a name like yours - pot, kettle etc

My full-on version may be reserved for the Full Moon in future. If I cba to name change on a monthly basis.

I must admit, I have only ever seen trolls being as offensive as some of sea's posts tonight. I think something must be up.

CheerfulYank · 30/04/2010 00:09

oooh, I want to play! What have you to say about Minnesotans, south? C'mon, give it your best shot!

OP, I see what you mean. DH and I own a house but now cannot afford to do anything with it. The paint's peeling, the floors are in hideous shape, etc. I want to fence the yard properly but we can't afford it.

It's always something, but I thank my lucky stars I've got a house at all. I do feel for you though, sometimes I'm so damn sick of working and working for not very much, and seeing people who never do a thing but coast on their great-grandfather's billions.

That's life though, isn't it? I've got a husband who sings "just molly and me/and baby makes three/we're happy in my blue heaven" to DS and me every night, and actually refers to our pitiful shack as his blue heaven, so I suppose I'm very blessed indeed.

CheerfulYank · 30/04/2010 00:35

Hmmph. Well, fine.
