To think that Nick Griffin is misunderstood and actually a nice chap?

I heard him being interviewed this morning on the Today programme.

Firstly, it turns out he's not racist or against immigration! Apparently, he says it's ok for French people to come here (there's not that many that want to so its ok). AND he says that Irish people can come here too because they're really all British! So that's nice. I was a bit confused because I thought they'd spent all those years bombing us because they didn't want to be British but I guess I've got that all wrong.

He's not going to let Algerian asylum seekers come though, but I don't think it matters because they'll just get killed where they are in their own country so that won't be a problem for them much longer.

And the best thing is... he's going to give £50,000 to anyone who's not "pure British" to leave the country and go back to where they came from! How cool is that! So I'm now deciding whether to go back to my Great-Grandmother's origins in Russia, or my Great Grandfather's in Finland. Now, apparently this money is going to come from what he called stupid anti-Climate Change projects so although much of Russia and pretty much all of Finland is a bit chilly, as the climate changes because they money is being spent on me, they'll get warmer and I'll be all toasty!

Brilliant!

Presumably then, given a chance, NG would have offered Churchill the 50 grand, seeing as apparently Churchill had an American grandparent?

Dh, the children and I would get 200 000 between us...

Also with Black people they are from Africa so where would they 'go back' to considering we enslaved the people that arrived from the Caribbean?
And what about people that came from countries that no longer exist?
And if we have 3,000,000(conservative guess) immigrants can we really afford £150,000,000?

booyhoo · 29/04/2010 18:40

posie i have a black friend who's from just down the road, quite sure she has never been to africa.

ImSoNotTelling · 29/04/2010 18:41

have you considered ukip, howmuch?

i don't think their policies involve bringing back flogging. (although I haven't studied them that closely TBH)

or are you a pro-flogging kinda person?

posieparker · 29/04/2010 18:45

Sorry...i am being a little tongue in cheek to highlight the idiocy of the BNP's policy of repatriation.

booyhoo · 29/04/2010 18:46

i know, i was messing with ya back

FlipFantasia · 29/04/2010 18:49

I'm just annoyed I can't get the 50k because, being Irish means I'm atually British...

He's on BBC London as I type - why does he get so much airtime? He's so obviously a tool!

SanctiMoanyArse · 29/04/2010 18:50

howmuch wrt to tax ceredsits (and I feel like I am saying this on a loop right now)

You do realise that when they were introduced they replaced family credit which used to bump up the income of low paid famillies, and that they also replaced Insome support for chidlren, and pay disability payments (certainly for disabled chidlren, don't know about adults)?

This comes up time and time agin but they are now far, far more than just a tax credits: just 9and this is imo rather sensible- minimal infrastructure and all that) under one flag

Simply ripping up TC's and raisingt eht ax limit won't do it any more. You'd need to recreate a whol;e new system.

daftpunk · 29/04/2010 18:51

Re; Punishment at school.

Yes, I'm all for bringing back power to the teachers. I don't know how teachers cope in certain schools...it must be like teaching in a zoo the children are so wild and uncontrollable.....they're under so much stress they half kill the kids....

We need change.

ImSoNotTelling · 29/04/2010 19:00

DP so you back the reintroduction of corporal punishment in schools (as per the BNP policy).

Interesting.

You don't think that having beatings in schools might attract the wrong sort of people into teaching? It certainly used to.

posieparker · 29/04/2010 19:07

sorry booyhoo.....it's blardy difficult to see who is joking and who is being serious.....if you read Daftpunk's post you would be forgiven in thinking that she is taking the piss, I mean anyone that put a sentence together would be too clever for the BNP, no?

SanctiMoanyArse · 29/04/2010 19:07

Blimey

Have spent the last decade trying to stop ds1 being aggressive

May as well give up should the teachers start back

Although IIRC most teachers said they wouldn't do it so what are we gonna do, force them?

That'd work about as well as the other policies then

daftpunk · 29/04/2010 19:08

Alot of children are out of control, they have no respect for teachers, or anyone in authority....they do what they like. I know alot of teachers.

AliGrylls · 29/04/2010 19:10

Only just understood your point posey. Maybe he is a fan of the idea of slavery too!

I actually don't know how anyone could vote for him. Even though he says he is not a racist (which to my mind it is transparent he is) and you believe it, why take a chance.

posieparker · 29/04/2010 19:10

I do agree with you there DP. The downward spiral of respect that must have started druing Thatchers reign, teaching our children that they are the most important and that adults must earn their respect. Need to go back to an earlier time where an adult's word was worth more than a child's.

booyhoo · 29/04/2010 19:10

i should have put a

posieparker · 29/04/2010 19:11

posieparker · 29/04/2010 19:12

me too

cornsilk · 29/04/2010 19:16

Daft punk - have you been in a school recently? I go in lots and none of them fit your description.

AliGrylls · 29/04/2010 19:17

I agree with you too DP about the lack of respect children have for adults - it is disgraceful that what children think counts when it comes to who teaches them and the fact that teachers have to struggle to control a classroom.

I'd have to go to Kerry. Or has he decided the Irish are British (ie White) anyway?

Kaloki · 29/04/2010 19:23

Oh you'd love one of my old teachers Daftpunk, he loved corporal punishment, he also loved groping 9 year old girls. But at least we all behaved
