To think that Nick Griffin is misunderstood and actually a nice chap?

I heard him being interviewed this morning on the Today programme.

Firstly, it turns out he's not racist or against immigration! Apparently, he says it's ok for French people to come here (there's not that many that want to so its ok). AND he says that Irish people can come here too because they're really all British! So that's nice. I was a bit confused because I thought they'd spent all those years bombing us because they didn't want to be British but I guess I've got that all wrong.

He's not going to let Algerian asylum seekers come though, but I don't think it matters because they'll just get killed where they are in their own country so that won't be a problem for them much longer.

And the best thing is... he's going to give £50,000 to anyone who's not "pure British" to leave the country and go back to where they came from! How cool is that! So I'm now deciding whether to go back to my Great-Grandmother's origins in Russia, or my Great Grandfather's in Finland. Now, apparently this money is going to come from what he called stupid anti-Climate Change projects so although much of Russia and pretty much all of Finland is a bit chilly, as the climate changes because they money is being spent on me, they'll get warmer and I'll be all toasty!

Brilliant!

The generosity of the BNP is quite staggering isn't it?

Such lovely manners too...

Jamieandhismagictorch · 29/04/2010 11:52

Wish I'd heard the interview. Sarah Montague rocks. Unlike that pompous arse Humphries.

Back to Griffin though - he's dreamy, and sooo intelligent. Really good at thinking on his feet.

LadyBiscuit · 29/04/2010 12:01

Jamie - it was on between 8.30 and 9 - worth a listen again. It was masterly and you could tell she was enjoying herself hugely

runnybottom · 29/04/2010 12:05

Excuse me OP, WHO spent what years bombing you?

FFS.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 29/04/2010 12:06

Will listen on i-player ... ta

ChickensHaveSinisterMotives · 29/04/2010 12:12

I told (Irish) DH that he was really British anyway. It was really interesting watching his face go all those pretty colours. Oh, and the Irish didn't bomb anyone. The IRA did (as did the Unionists). Although, for £50k, I reckon he'd relocate to Dublin. We currently live in the Midlands . My grandfather was from Cork, although my mothers family are German. Hmmm. Do the kids have to live on the ferry?

SanctiMoanyArse · 29/04/2010 12:12

Pure Bristish???

SO what about ds1's best mate: Thai but Mum married to a british man, British half sister?

Or DH- all we know about his Grandad is that he was from another country, FIL was adopted.

What a silly, silly definition tbh

Although as everyone says- Griffin = phwoaarr and has leadership skills that could really pull us out of a global recession.

And pmsl at greenback

ImSoNotTelling · 29/04/2010 12:19

What?

I'm not so keen on his policy.

I don't know how many generations its looking at, but I may have to say goodbye to most of my friends and just stay here in isolated misery with nick griffin for company

StepSideways · 29/04/2010 12:24

I think I've got a lil bit of Polish blood in be, can I have 50k to move there? all the poles I know are loverly...

SanctiMoanyArse · 29/04/2010 12:25

'S alright i'll still be here with you in the uni-genetic ghetto

Where we can only breed with each other and watch the gene pool shrink for eternity

Minjd as ds4 breastfeeds and is of dubious history due to aforementioned do I have to go 'back' with him?

Do I get extra for having a familar giving succour to a potential foreigner?

INdeed it's bloody horrid weather ehre today, so maybe I should just thank him heartily before he notices I am not' one of them' at all

Now, where do you think we can say the ancestors come from as we have a fairly clean slate tehre and can fix some ancestry.com info to represent wahtever I reckon

QueenofDreams · 29/04/2010 12:25

I was wondering that too Im: Mind you could I take the 50K and move to wales? After all my Great grandad was from Wrexham. It just says go back wheere you came from after all. Part of me came from Wales Or London. My Great gran was from london before she emigrated.

StepSideways · 29/04/2010 12:26

Oh and my DW's chinese, so that's 100k for the both of us, right? cool...

pigletmania · 29/04/2010 12:27

My mum (of Armenian descent born in Cyrus) was saying how she was going to vote BNP and how our country was getting too full etc, I pointed it out to her that she was one of the very people they wanted to go back to their own country. She then said oh I will have to go back to Cyprus if they get in, yes doh

CatIsSleepy · 29/04/2010 12:28

the BNP leaflets in our area have a picture of Winston Churchill next to one of the lovely Nick

do you think he actually knows that in World War II we were fighting against fascists?

Kneazle · 29/04/2010 12:32

CatIsSleepy we have had that one as well. It looks a bit like this

ImSoNotTelling · 29/04/2010 12:37

Maybe it will end up with loads of reverse marriages of convenience as people like me rush to marry people from other places to get away to somewhere nice with teh dosh.

I think I might marry someone from australia/NZ or northern spain maybe. or teh carribean. lots of places in fact. i've never been to south america.

i wonder what DH will make of it.

How is nick going to convince countries to take all of these people in I wonder? Especially if they are bringing their families? or does he want the families to be split up? So dad and kids go to wherever and mummy stays here...

BertieBotts · 29/04/2010 12:38

This reminds me of that advert for some kind of beer where the man would hide in a truck, then get "deported" to Amsterdam or somewhere else exotic.

ImSoNotTelling · 29/04/2010 12:41

Will he forcibly repatriate all of the "ethnically british" (or whetever the hell it is) people who have emigrated?

i wonder what they will make of that.

2shoes · 29/04/2010 12:45

yabu
but then I think you are just joshing

ChazsBarmyArmy · 29/04/2010 12:47

Do you have to promise never to come back?

CBA's new financial plan. DH takes £50K goes back to err Algeria. CBA and DH divorce. DH (already a british citizen) comes back. CBA and DH remarry...DH takes £50K goes back ....etc.

I think you are all very shallow to be objectifying him by discussing his physical appearance. I am too distracted by the shock and awe of his pronouncements.

mmrsceptic · 29/04/2010 12:48

my god how did he get the airtime!

ChickensHaveSinisterMotives · 29/04/2010 12:48

I imagine it would be like having sex with a walnut

SethStarkaddersMum · 29/04/2010 12:49

He obviously isn't racist, anyway, because he likes curry.

ImSoNotTelling · 29/04/2010 12:50

walrus more like

SethStarkaddersMum · 29/04/2010 12:51

tell you what though, I'm a little bit worried that in a day or two as a result of this thread we're going to see articles in the Daily Mail followed by self-righteous columns in the Telegraph about 'Internet mums express support for Griffin' and 'Why going onto a parenting websites turns you into a fascist'.
Stranger things have happened....
