I heard him being interviewed this morning on the Today programme.

Firstly, it turns out he's not racist or against immigration! Apparently, he says it's ok for French people to come here (there's not that many that want to so its ok). AND he says that Irish people can come here too because they're really all British! So that's nice. I was a bit confused because I thought they'd spent all those years bombing us because they didn't want to be British but I guess I've got that all wrong.

He's not going to let Algerian asylum seekers come though, but I don't think it matters because they'll just get killed where they are in their own country so that won't be a problem for them much longer.

And the best thing is... he's going to give £50,000 to anyone who's not "pure British" to leave the country and go back to where they came from! How cool is that! So I'm now deciding whether to go back to my Great-Grandmother's origins in Russia, or my Great Grandfather's in Finland. Now, apparently this money is going to come from what he called stupid anti-Climate Change projects so although much of Russia and pretty much all of Finland is a bit chilly, as the climate changes because they money is being spent on me, they'll get warmer and I'll be all toasty!

You know, for £50k I might seriously immigrate . Genetically I'm overwhelmingly British, but since I only have a foreign passport, I bet I can "pass".

I am pretty sure that in BNP's last election leaflets they had pictures of Italians etc. that were supposed to be representative "British people like you".

My parents and I were born overseas but my grandparents were british...

Re: Irish bombing us - absolutely take on board comments that it was the IRA and I 100% apologise for it being badly written and obviously incorrect/inaccurate. TBH I was extremely irritated by his statement that all Irish people would be happy to be called "British" when clearly that's not the case and it wasn't in any way meant to be an Irish dig - quite the opposite in fact - more being at his ignorance.

They did drop off a leaflet yesterday, which I tried writing swear words on, but pen was working, so I tore it up and jumped on it.

I was thinking what ~I would say if I met our local BNP rep. I was thiking of starting with "so what kind of person would you like living in Britain? Someone who's paid all their taxes, paid for their own education, contributes to the economy and society? Really? That's the kind of person you want, as that's the kind of person I am. It's a pity I'm an immigrant though, so give me my £50k and I'll bugger off". (it got more colourful the more I thought about it walking to the shops. Was quite the speech by the end).

ImSo - I think the closest is xenophobic (Greek, 'fear of those from strange lands'). Not an 'ist', sorry.

What I particularly love about the BNP is the way the chatted to me for a very long time about how they were going to get everyone jobs, and yes, if my partner needed a job, they would help him.

Do you know what, if he wants to give DH 50 grand to go 'home' he's welcome to, we could buy an awesome house in his country for that!
