To think that Nick Griffin is misunderstood and actually a nice chap?

I heard him being interviewed this morning on the Today programme.

Firstly, it turns out he's not racist or against immigration! Apparently, he says it's ok for French people to come here (there's not that many that want to so its ok). AND he says that Irish people can come here too because they're really all British! So that's nice. I was a bit confused because I thought they'd spent all those years bombing us because they didn't want to be British but I guess I've got that all wrong.

He's not going to let Algerian asylum seekers come though, but I don't think it matters because they'll just get killed where they are in their own country so that won't be a problem for them much longer.

And the best thing is... he's going to give £50,000 to anyone who's not "pure British" to leave the country and go back to where they came from! How cool is that! So I'm now deciding whether to go back to my Great-Grandmother's origins in Russia, or my Great Grandfather's in Finland. Now, apparently this money is going to come from what he called stupid anti-Climate Change projects so although much of Russia and pretty much all of Finland is a bit chilly, as the climate changes because they money is being spent on me, they'll get warmer and I'll be all toasty!

Brilliant!

DP Jeff Marshall as a BNP Party Organiser represents the party that you are a part of - do you agree with him or not?

He was not talking about terminations he was referring to the death of a much loved son, Ivan Cameron - nothing to do with terminations.

Do you agree with his viewpoint?

StrictlyKatty · 02/05/2010 15:07

this source says 90% of DS babies are aborted

rey · 02/05/2010 15:07

Isn't there always a leader in various countries who just wants everyone to go back to where they came from and look at those countries.

ImSoNotTelling · 02/05/2010 15:08

"You are an activist for an extreme right-wing group."

Gosh Lenin do you know that idea hadn't actually sunk in until you said it.

Why on earth would I bother engaging with someone in that position? It's pointless.

Really pointless.

DP I think people have given you the benefit of the doubt time and time and time again, been patient and given lengthy explanations as to why they feel the way they do. And in return all you give is vile bile and grotesque statements.

I guess you're upping the ante as people get used to you - there's little reaction to stuff we've heard before and so you have to go one step further each time.

V dull frankly.

If it were NG on here would we be giving him the time of day past "you're scum"? I think not. so...

eatsushi · 02/05/2010 15:09

Thanks Strictlykatty but I think that DP is trying to use diversion tactics.

I was just pointing out the true nature of the BNP, of which DP is a supporter or activist in.

tethersend · 02/05/2010 15:09

The abortion of babies with DS is a red herring.

DP, you need to answer the question- do you agree with Jeff Marshall on this particular issue?

StrictlyKatty · 02/05/2010 15:11

'Official figures show the number of abortions of Down's syndrome babies has trebled in recent years, with 94 per cent of women choosing to end their pregnancy on hearing their unborn child has the condition.
In 2004, more than 900 babies with the condition were aborted, compared with 293 in 1989.'

Let's take a section from my post:

Marshall stated that although it would be ?a kindness? to kill children with disabilities, this was not the same as advocating such a measure as compulsory state policy. ?But so what if it is,? he asked. ?At least we would all know where we stand. There is actually not a great deal of point in keeping these sort of people alive, after all.?

So DP do you agree with his stance?

A simple yes or no will suffice.

StrictlyKatty · 02/05/2010 15:13

Oh sorry! I just read that someone wanted the figures, and I happen to have read that they were true recently after a friend told me the same thing. I was very shocked!

ImSoNotTelling · 02/05/2010 15:14

Hmm has moved on.

So top BNP bloke thinks that disabled people should be rounded up and shot/gassed/whatever.

(He was not talking about termination as far as I can see).

Does this come as a surprise to anyone?
No.

Does it come as a surprise to DP?
No. Because she is a BNP activist.

thecatatemygymsuit · 02/05/2010 15:19

ISNT, yes, it's strangely reminiscent of the Nazis, isn't it? And yet the BNP are stealing the words of WWII veterans (who fought against such evil) to promote their despicable campaign of hate. I mean, define irony?

eatsushi · 02/05/2010 15:22

Well I suppose DP will run away now and try consult with the BNP party as to what else she should say.

Her response with regards to terminations was taken straight from the BNP Party handbook.

The BNP is a racist, disabilist, sexist, facist party.

DP on the subject of disabled children, are you saying no disabled child should live??

So what if you have a perfectly healthy baby that (God forbid) somewhere down the line becomes disabled through illness or accident?

Do you take it to a "special place" to dispose of it as it is no longer perfect????

I did not find out DS1 has SN till he was 7, so was I supposed to do away with him then just because he does not tick every box that some in society see as normal????
Because I can tell you now if someone came for my child I would kill them with my bare hands before I let them harm him, have you ever been to the British war museum? Have you been to their holocaust exhibit? Have you seen the photos of what they did to Special need and disabled children?

My mother is wheelchair dependent, this happened at the age of 65, so what are we meant to do with her????

Yes a world where no one was born to struggle or suffer would be a wonderful thing, but it is not this world, and Nick Griffin is not God, in fact I think he works for the guy downstairs....

daftpunk · 02/05/2010 15:25

No, I don't agree with him, but I agree that any parent has the right to abort a pregnancy because of a disability...

And just because I support the BNP doesn't mean I agree with everything that every person in the BNP says...

I was just pointing out that 1000's of parents abort pregnacies due to disability......do you think those parents are vile..?

ImSoNotTelling · 02/05/2010 15:25

Diversion is a clever thing isn't it.

I still always fall for it, but am getting better.

That comment re ternmination was a classic wasn't it.

But luckily some people here were crafty enough to notice - duh -that he was talking about killing people who are already alive.

Slightly different.

thecatatemygymsuit · 02/05/2010 15:26

This thread has suddenly made me feel super-proud of my lovely, politically proactive mother, who took me on a march in Lewisham in the early 70's and the words we chanted have stayed in my head ever since (I was about 3):
'Black and white, unite to fight, smash the National Front!'.
Sorry just wanted to share, and also to muse on the fact that at least when these worms come out of the woodwork it does make you realise how many good, kind people there actually are in the world.

ImSoNotTelling · 02/05/2010 15:32

So.

DP doesn;t agree with rounding up disabled people are killing them.
She doesn;t agree with bringing back corporal punishment (one of their policies).

No answer yet on bringing back flogging for petty criminals or for bringing back capital punishment for severe crimes (not including rape, natch).

Thing is, that if I supported a political party, let alone was an activist, I would have to fundamentally agree with all their major policies.

POlicies about murdering people and flogging them are pretty fundamental in my book.

Someone who is an activist for a party fundamentally has to agree with their policies, pretty much by defintion.

Thus whatever DP says, and she must say she disagrees with the murder of children, we can assume that actually she is presenting (as per BNP literature) a more palatable side to their ideas. When underneath, of course, any activist would fundamentally agree with the basic ideaologies of the party.

Which in this case have a lot in common with the taliban/nazis etc.

ie
keep women in the home
remove their rights
capital punishment
flogging people
beating children
sending anyone who is the wrong colour/religion "back where they came"
slaughtering disabled people (and others?)

etc etc etc etc

and DP wonders why people get upset

RunawayWife · 02/05/2010 15:33

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn?t a Jew.

When they came for the Catholics
I said nothing
I was not a Catholic

When they came for the Protestants
I kept silent
I was not a protestant

When they came for the Blacks
I did not speak up
I was not black

When they came for me...there was no one left to speak

DP who will defend you when they come for you?

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

RunawayWife · 02/05/2010 15:36

DP yes it is the choice of the parents to be, and I do not think it is ever going to be an easy choice.

I know that I am not as strong as some of the people here and I would not cope well with a severely disabled child, thank God I have never been in the position of ever having to make that decision, but it has to be the decision of the parents not some loony who wants a master race.

daftpunk · 02/05/2010 15:37

I do agree with bringing back corporal punishment in schools....I said that on here yesterday (I think..?)

RunawayWife · 02/05/2010 15:38

Dp do you have children?

daftpunk · 02/05/2010 15:40

RunawayWife;

If I had been told any of my dc had downs syndrome I would have terminated the pregnancy. I am not ashamed to say that.

daftpunk · 02/05/2010 15:41

yes, I have 4

eatsushi · 02/05/2010 15:42

You are unbelievable DP you are still trying to link the BNP Party activists comments to terminations - as though there is a way out - there is no way out this time.

No one and I mean no one on here every inferred that parents who decide on a termination are vile.

Do you have no compassion or humanity?

Do they brainwash you at your bnp party activist meetings?
