Would I be unreasonable to deface this poster

BNP poster attached to railings at intersection - it says:

"People like you vote BNP"

There is just enough room to scrub out 'you' and put Nazis.

I'm seriously considering it - I'm all for democracy and I wouldn't give a rats ass if someone defaced the Tory ones with 'duck pond'.

As far as I'm concerned the leader was/is a Holocaust denier (he says he was but he's come round now) so to scribble NAZI on it is accurate and not a slur.

I braved it, I decided to read the racist bastards BNP manifesto.

So far it's just ranting about how oppressed the British people are with no facts to back it up. So exactly as I expected.

But just for daftpunk, I thought I'd pick out some of the choicest comments, because as she keeps reminding us, the manifesto is there to see and as she wont tell us which bits she agrees with, we shall just have to assume all of it.

"All laws against traditional free speech rights will be repealed, starting with the
vague, politicised, and hypocritically-enforced laws pertaining to race and
religion"

Translation The BNP would like to be able to spout whichever incitements to racial violence that they feel like.

The ideas for fixing the "Irish Problem" are laughable. As someone else pointed out earlier in the thread, because asking the Irish to join with Britain has never caused any problem before

"We would restore to the legitimate and law-abiding sportsmen the right to possess
and shoot all the varieties of weapon they were entitled to before New Labour?s 1997
totalitarian gun-grab"

Oh god! Can you think of a group of people you would feel any less uncomfortable with holding guns?!

"To take just one example, it is a hard fact that, according to official figures, 15% of
the UK?s male prison population is black, despite black people accounting for only
2% of the total population. Victim-reported figures concerning the race of criminals
give the lie to the leftist argument that this is due to discriminatory prosecution. It is
an inescapable statistical fact that immigration into Britain increases the crime rate."

This gives no regard to cause and effect, and also, if they want to bring immigration into it they need to back it up with how many are immigrants, not how many are black.

It also doesn't take into account the environmental factors.

"Recent arrests of cells of Islamic terrorists living in the country plotting mass
murder in Britain illustrate the link between illegal immigration and terrorism."

How? As far as I was aware, a good few of the terrorists were British citizens, not illegal immigrants.

"Whether the now totally discredited feminist
argument that men and women are innately the same, to the partly refuted egalitarian
claim that everyone within a given population is born as a blank slate with the same
innate potential, or to the still dominant Politically Correct denial of the existence of
differences on average between members of different races ? we reject all these
irrational myths."

Ah yes, irrational. Based on? And daftpunk, being female, you count too.

"?Racism?, in other words, is not a consequence
of ?false consciousness?, economics, imperialism or the work of evil agitators, it is part
of human nature."

Nice!

Not even halfway through and can't bear anymore..

daftpunk · 25/04/2010 12:32

What NG is basically saying is that although black people account for a small percentage of the population, they commit alot of crime.....this was backed up by a leading police officer years ago....when he said the vast majority of crime in London was committed by young black men.

How can you argue with official statistics..?

ooojimaflip · 25/04/2010 12:38

daftpunk - to quote a popular saying from another forum "correlation is not causation".

What are percentage of the prison population grew up in poverty, in care, performed poorly in school?

What percentage of each of these groups is black?

ooojimaflip · 25/04/2010 12:42

Just because something is 'human nature' doesn't make it necessery, correct or useful. Civilisation means deciding to apply a higher moral sense than 'human nature'.

Kaloki · 25/04/2010 12:45

Would advise you read Freakonomics Daftpunk.

ooojimaflip · 25/04/2010 12:50

EVERYONE should read freakanmoics - but considering some on here hold Ben Goldacre up as a beacon of smugness, they should be beware of smugness on a whole new level.

The Undercover Economist is good as well. And less pleased with itself.

noddyholder · 25/04/2010 12:53

I think NG has blown his cover with that hidden film on todays news! All his talk of not being racist and the party being misunderstood and having moved on is utter nonsense when you watch that.Anyone who votes for that is deranged!

GoldenSnitch · 25/04/2010 12:56

"?Racism?, in other words, is not a consequence
of ?false consciousness?, economics, imperialism or the work of evil agitators, it is part
of human nature."

daftpunk · 25/04/2010 13:08

would advise you read this

Kaloki · 25/04/2010 13:10

Your point being? WRT to anything else that has just been posted.

weloveyoumisshannigan · 25/04/2010 13:13

DP the BNPs white paper on Family Law has been deleted from the internet (can't think why). I read it before the Europeans. It was sick, ranting on about 'femminist poison', men's marital rights ie it would be lawful for a man to rape his wife, reforming tax credits so men would get the money and women didn't need it. There was stuff about divorce too. If a women commits adultery then her dh is entitled to legal aid and she is not and if the dh is sucessful then he gets full custardy of the dcs. They also said that domestic violence didn't exist, its a pc myth or some such.

ooojimaflip · 25/04/2010 13:14

OOH it's produced by that famously impartial body MigrationWatch.

daftpunk · 25/04/2010 13:14

I don't need to read anything else, I don't care what you think of me or the BNP...you carry on living in whatever world you're living in, but back on planet earth people are sick of illegal immigrants, asylum seekers and all the other crap we have had to put up with...the BNP will sort this out...and that's why I back them.

Lovecat · 25/04/2010 13:16

DP, you haven't answered the points made about either the holocaust-denying or the anti-Catholic background of the BNP - you're as old if not older than I am, surely you remember the National Front in the 1970's 'paddy-bashing'? BNP = NF in suits. Still praying for you, btw, am beginning to think even St Jude has washed his hands of you...

To the OP - hurrah! Many years ago when the BNP was still the NF, they put up posters in Ilford that were very Nazi Folk Art in style (young blonde couple staring heroically upward into the bright future promised by the NF) - I happened to have a black marker pen in my bag and gave the pair of them hitler moustaches and side partings

Kaloki · 25/04/2010 13:17

And you've read how they will do this? Maybe you should be the one reading their manifesto!

No? You suprise me..

Lovecat · 25/04/2010 13:24

Now you're just trolling, DP. And on a Sunday too... shame on you!

noddyholder · 25/04/2010 13:25

Your country?

weloveyoumisshannigan · 25/04/2010 13:32

You are seriously going to waste your vote on a racist, mysogenist, anti Catholic fringe party because they have told you they are going to put all the brown people on the first boat out without them even having to give any clue as to how they are going to achieve it?

daftpunk · 25/04/2010 13:33

No, it's not called trolling, it's called expressing a political opinion that doesn't agree with yours...it's also called democracy.....you're just not able to cope with different opinions and views, I'm not sure why...?

You will get better at dealing with political debate the more you chat on these threads....would do you good to post on a few more maybe..?

Kaloki · 25/04/2010 13:36

Yes Lovecat, how silly of you, why don't you follow daftpunk's posts to learn better how to debate your views

Kaloki · 25/04/2010 14:28

Because I thought it was appropriate

"And it won?t work ? Aryan supremacists, white supremacists, black supremacists, blue supremacists- especially the blue supremacists, they?ll never work, because if you get the same people from the same genetic group to all intermarry, hello? Cousins marrying, hello?? IQ down the toilet! Hitler was trying this? first generation of Nazis would have been, ?Sieg Heil!? Second generation, ?Sieg Heil?? Third generation, ?Er? Sieg? er? I?ve no idea.?"

Except I think the BNP have already reached stage 3..

Ryoko · 25/04/2010 14:36

Just leave it alone, we have freedom of speech in this country, just because you don't agree with it does not give you the right to deface it.

weloveyoumisshannigan · 25/04/2010 14:41

"People like you vote for the BNP" is an unfounded allegation. Freedom of libelous speech is a grey area legally.
