Would I be unreasonable to deface this poster

BNP poster attached to railings at intersection - it says:

"People like you vote BNP"

There is just enough room to scrub out 'you' and put Nazis.

I'm seriously considering it - I'm all for democracy and I wouldn't give a rats ass if someone defaced the Tory ones with 'duck pond'.

As far as I'm concerned the leader was/is a Holocaust denier (he says he was but he's come round now) so to scribble NAZI on it is accurate and not a slur.

OP posts:
Ryoko · 25/04/2010 15:09

Not really it depends on who is reading it.

I've seen similar slogans on Tory bilboards and never taken any offense to it I simply greet such things with a "yeah right when hell freezes over".

Well libelous or not, freedom of speech is a good thing and everyone should have it regardless of what they have to say, it's never good to hide things, censorship creates solidarity and increases support.

Kaloki · 25/04/2010 15:20

But she wouldn't be hiding it, just correcting it. Think of it like putting in a missing apostrophe.

PinkoLiberal · 25/04/2010 15:21

Defacing party posters in election time should be a national apoprt, better than apathy anyway

ANd deface teh BNP one in the name of the toddler spat at furtehr down the thread

And if any BNP voters are on ehre pelase tell me twhir SN policy becuase the BNP fuckers won't tell me themselves....

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 26/04/2010 09:06

Forgive the shouting but the OP said this pages ago and everyone seems to have missed it:

THE POSTER IS TIED TO RAILINGS, NOT ON A BILLBOARD

So it has no legal right to be there - oh, unless the person owning the property has signed for them to put it there. But I doubt the BNP bothered with such niceties.

So the OP can remove it and wipe her arse with it should she choose.

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 26/04/2010 09:11

daftpunk, the study commissioned by Boris Johnson that is quoted in that article said an amnesty for illegal immigrants would cost £1bn, yes, but that it would add £3bn to the economy.
Now I know in-depth analysis isn't your strong point, but surely you can do the maths on that?

Also, I notice you still haven't offered any explanation as to how the BNP's efforts to find and expel illegal immigrants will differ from current UK Border Agency efforts.

"you carry on living in whatever world you're living in, but back on planet earth people are sick of illegal immigrants, asylum seekers and all the other crap we have had to put up with"

Back on planet earth, the BNP are not going to win the election. Fact.

daftpunk · 26/04/2010 09:36

I know they're not going to win the election, they'll be lucky if they get one MP.....but I want them there, because if NG is an elected member of parliament....he will get more publicity, the BNP will become more accepted and mainstream.....it's a start.

Rome wasn't built in a day.

noddyholder · 26/04/2010 09:38

Even with the immigrants who don't work etc etc the gain to the Uk in £ from their being here is more than it costs even the bloody tories admit that!

daftpunk · 26/04/2010 09:43

Plus, if the BNP win more councils, they will put British born people to the top of the housing list, British born people will get preference in just about everything....

...So, people who have only been in the country 5 minutes will move to other areas, those areas will become flooded with immigrants, British born people in those areas will get pissed off and vote BNP....

...The BNP win another council....

Ker-ching..

noddyholder · 26/04/2010 09:45

Its all so easy isn't it when you really have NO concept of the way the system works! NG must be delighted with the intellectual calibre of his followers.he showed his true racist colours in the east end this week?Did you hear what he and his cohorts said about that woman's child?they were talking about people like your dh

daftpunk · 26/04/2010 09:52

All I heard, was that he said walking through the East End of London was like walking through Nairobi

cory · 26/04/2010 09:52

Your terminology is interesting, daftpunk: you seem to use "black" and "immigrant" and "illegal immigrant" as pretty well interchangeable. Would you be unbearably surprised to find that most immigrants are not black, that most blacks these days are probably not immigrants, and that the blacks who boost the prison statistics are, in the main, not immigrants of any kind, let alone illegal immigrants?

cory · 26/04/2010 09:54

hang on, I don't actually know whether the neighbours are British born or not

maybe we should be made to wear some sort of badge

or ring a bell

noddyholder · 26/04/2010 09:57

proud?

PinkoLiberal · 26/04/2010 10:03

oh my neighbour is british born and white
and an expert on islamic fundamentalism

not sure ifvthe bnp would love him for his whiteness or loathe him that he ahs yet to agreee that Islam = terrorism

Of course he knows nowt, right?

DP do you think councillors get to set all teh council rules then? You do realise much is set from Westminster right?

weloveyoumisshannigan · 26/04/2010 10:03

Why will migrants have to move to other areas given that the vast majority live in privately owned houses and don't claim benefit? What are these lists of which you speak with foreigners at the top of them?

Even if you are right and migrant workers moved to other parts of the country then it wouldn't lead to other people voting BNP. People who vote BNP generally have less experience of migration and a bigger inferiority complex than people who do not vote for them. People vote BNP because they are racist, not because they have a knowledge of how council houses are allocated and want to change that.

PinkoLiberal · 26/04/2010 10:11

Is the BNP housing policy actually still quite a long wqualifying time locally for a council house?

Penalising anyone who has to move for work tehn gets amde redundant, or has to move to care for elderly relations who then die and needs a home? Do we know if theya re going to drop that for eg women leaving refuges, as at present they do tend to get housed as far away as possible from their XP's.

Ohn no we don't becuase their entire manifesto is a bunch of one liners.

HAve they come up with a disability policy yet? Couldn't find on eo f those before? Becuase you know, if tehre's one thing that scares me mroe than a party with ex neo nazi members, it's a party with ex neo nazi members with no stance on the disabled.

But then on mplanet earth people know that only the white british born people are hard working tax apyers who deserve anything right? Luckily only about 6% of the people round here live on planet earth so I can rest assured that my city is safe for another few years. Extra terrestrial or not.

daftpunk · 26/04/2010 10:11

NH...I've seen it all before,...

I wouldn't be surprised if there were people like NG in the 3 main parties, they just don't get filmed like he does....put a secret camera with any politician and you would be shocked...

Wasn't a Labour MP sacked recently for calling all the old people in Scotland "coffin dodgers"....?

He was a rising star....he was just abit too "open" with his views on twitter...lol...I think he also called Diane Abbott a fucking idiot....

ooojimaflip · 26/04/2010 10:12

The weather in Nairobi is nicer too.

cory · 26/04/2010 10:12

I am interested in this housing thing, particularly with all these nasty mixed marriages you get these days. Would dh and the children get housing provided they didn't let me in? Could I sleep in the garden shed or would that be breaking the rules?

Totally irrelevant, of course as (like so many immigrants) I have a mortgage. And a job. And pay taxes. Bloody uppity people!

PinkoLiberal · 26/04/2010 10:13

Er dp he was sacked: not promoted to leader

So the campaign policy now is vote for us because there might be bigots in your party anyway? Convincing, huh?

Vote for soemonoe else coz there might be someone in the BNP who, you know, likes black people.

ooojimaflip · 26/04/2010 10:14

DP - I don't think calling people 'coffin dodgers' is in the same league as saying - 'Once they've had some black cock, they're no better than nig-nogs themselves'

(I may be paraphrasing)

PinkoLiberal · 26/04/2010 10:15

' 'Once they've had some black cock, they're no better than nig-nogs themselves'
' and can never be satisfied by my tiny one

(alledgedly)

CagedBird · 26/04/2010 10:15

Having stalked this thread I've come to the conclusion that daftpunk is a troll or at least not actually a bnp supporter. Maybe she is just here to let everyone know what type of person votes bnp, how weak the bnp policies are, how racist (despite his protestations) NG is and exactly why nobody with a right mind should be voting for them.

Deface the poster op, it's not a billboard a few extra words of truth would only serve to improve such a poster.

at the prick who spat at the child and exactly what you would expect from them.

PinkoLiberal · 26/04/2010 10:17

CB nah she's not, she's ubiquitous but said elsewhere she's voting Tory
