Would I be unreasonable to deface this poster

thursdaynamechange · 23/04/2010 17:14

BNP poster attached to railings at intersection - it says:

"People like you vote BNP"

There is just enough room to scrub out 'you' and put Nazis.

I'm seriously considering it - I'm all for democracy and I wouldn't give a rats ass if someone defaced the Tory ones with 'duck pond'.

As far as I'm concerned the leader was/is a Holocaust denier (he says he was but he's come round now) so to scribble NAZI on it is accurate and not a slur.

Now, now - let's not let this turn into a dick size competition - just IMAGINE where that could end...

face of horror

ooojimaflip · 26/04/2010 10:20

CagedBird - We are pretty certain these days that DP is for real. Either that or quite psychotically committed to deception!

PinkoLiberal · 26/04/2010 10:21

Dunno what you eman OOjma

'Nick Griffin: the Dick of all Dicks'

do you eman tehre by any chance?

daftpunk · 26/04/2010 10:23

Oh I agree, I don't think saying coffin dodgers is anything at all...I wouldn't have sacked him, and he could call his political mates fucking idiots all day long for all I'd care,....not really sure why he was sacked...?

...oh that's right, it was because he was caught saying it.....and you can't say anything in the Labour party unless you're crawling up someones arse..

PinkoLiberal · 26/04/2010 10:25
ooojimaflip · 26/04/2010 10:26

PinkoLiberal - I was more disturbed by the prospect of all the party leaders whapping theirs out on a table with a ruler on national TV.

ooojimaflip · 26/04/2010 10:27

daftpunk - TBH I think he was sacked because he was stupid enough to be caught saying it. Basic PR skills are part of the job description these days.

PinkoLiberal · 26/04/2010 10:29

PMSl

that'd brightern up teh dernbates though woudln't it?

And as DC is the spitting image of my ex fiance there is a part of me that suspects he is equally- shall we say, underblessed LOL

But whilst I might live with NC I think GB might finish me off. And I think I may resist that macaroon now- suddenly am feeling queasy

cupcakesandbunting · 26/04/2010 10:30

Do it and post pictorial evidence of said defacing please

daftpunk · 26/04/2010 10:36

oooji....he's young, he said nothing much imo, I don't know why the Labour party sacked him, esp when they have wankers like Peter Mandelson running the country.........it's just all hypocrisy

umf · 26/04/2010 10:42

Pleeeease do it. Will contribute to the fine if the worst happens. There's no BNP campaigning round here, have been longing for them to knock so can chase'em down the street.

Suggest niqab more confusing disguise than goggle jacket?

Lovecat · 26/04/2010 12:11

pmsl @ DP teaching me how to debate...

How about answering the questions regarding Holocaust Denial and anti-Catholicism?

And there was me thinking debate was about defending and promoting one's position, not just ignoring or insulting those who disagree with you?

Oh, sorry, forgot you were a BNP supporter, that's how their thugs members behave when faced with awkward questions...

I live a stone's throw from Barking and am terrified the BNP will get in there, with the appalling, ignorant attitudes that the likes of Edmonds and his ilk display. So someone who disagrees with him must have a black child? WTF??? Couldn't possibly be because his party's policies are rubbish and wouldn't do a thing for this country?

My area is very mixed racially and on the whole it's a lovely place to live, there is little or no ethnic tension there. Simply by having the BNP stirrers in the area raises the likelihood of racist attacks and abuse and I for one wish they'd crawl back into their holes.

They are useless on the council in Barking, rarely attend meetings or hold surgeries and react with anger if challenged on this. God help Barking if they do get a seat...

daftpunk · 26/04/2010 12:48

Lovecat; I haven't got time to go through all this again, (pretty sure I've answered the holocaust question a 1000x) I don't have to answer every single question that gets thrown at me, I'm not a paid politician, I don't have to answer everyone...if I did I'd never get off MN (I spend half my life here as it is) The BNP are not something new, all across Europe far-right parties have support....just look at the French National Frount...J-M Le Pen almost became president of France fgs he has so much support......do some research on him and his party, you will see alot of similarities between Le pen and NG...I would say France is a civilized Country....wouldn't you..?

Quattrocento · 26/04/2010 13:01

This thread has actually convinced me that there is no point in engaging with BNP voters.

Lovecat · 26/04/2010 13:08

And it's another red herring thrown in by DP!

You never did answer the Holocaust question, which wasn't whether Nick Griffin denied it or not, it was how could you, personally, support a party which accomodated such views?

Similary the anti-Catholicism of the BNP - this is something which affects you directly, so I think that if you're going to come on here and lecture us about how we misunderstand the BNP, then we're entitled to know how exactly you reconcile your support for the party with their views on your faith?

Were you even aware of it?

Btw, hope you've been to confession and discussed your feelings of anger and fear towards people who are just as much God's creation as you are? I wouldn't take communion til you do, that's a mortal sin, isn't it, to go up there and take the Host with anger in your heart? God bless...

noddyholder · 26/04/2010 13:35

DP why do you always rush off or have no time when you have your back against the wall and have no answers really? When you are sticking the knife in with sweeping insults and generalisations you have all the time in the world!

daftpunk · 26/04/2010 13:44

I'm supposed to be working on my degree, I have tons of reading to do, I have 4 kids and a husband...I have a massive house and a 150 ft garden...I have a cat with emotional problems..I have 2 sisters who never get off my mobile....My best friend is having an affair with my other friends dh, I am very into politics in RL and there is an election in 10 days, I try and fit MN in around all this.....somedays I have more time than others....

sanielle · 26/04/2010 14:06

You are being VERY unreasonable not to deface it!

I am confused by them people who believe the posters should be left as its "undemocratic to tear them down"

bollox. I care more for the rights of the poor immigrant child forced to walk past these posters every day. As an adult not from Britain I feel enraged by them and couldn't imagine how it must make a child feel.

They are an abusive racist Nazi party.

daftpunk · 26/04/2010 14:17

Re; Catholics voting for the BNP. I haven't done a study on this, but I would imagine it's because the BNP have very strong conservative views, as does the Catholic church...also, the BNP have taken alot of the traditional Labour working class vote, alot of those voters were catholic....so it's a combination of issues.

Are the BNP anti-catholic?......possibly, but not enough to stop me voting for them. The Labour party are anti-rich, and want to keep people on benefits and dependant on the state, however, rich people who are not on benefits still vote for them.

feeimcgee · 26/04/2010 14:45

YANBU and will probably get cars tooting you in support! We lived in the country when I was little and during election time, if no-one was around, my dad would stop the car and pull down Tory signs.

sanielle · 26/04/2010 14:53

Should say the people. Not them people.

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 26/04/2010 14:57

And what about mrbundle's story about the BNP coming round?

"He spat in his sand pit when ds was playing. He was playing in the garden and I was in the kitchen watching him and goons came in the gate with leaflets they got have way up the path and I went to open the door. DS looked up and revealed his ethnicity. Goon didn't want to waste leaflet on a lost cause so he turned and left and I was thinking good, they've gone. They walked along the road and when they were level with ds one of them spat over the fence at ds and called him names. Ds is 16 months.

Then they ran away. Actual running like 8yo who have put a football through someones greenhouse."

Does that make you feel proud to be a member of the BNP?
That the sort of thing you do when you're out campaigning as well?

PinkoLiberal · 26/04/2010 19:00

mrbundles story makes me feel sick

if tehre should be a qualifier for being in the UK it should be absic humanity towards tiny children

revolting

Nellykats · 26/04/2010 22:15

Daftpunk

I despair at your lack of humanity.

I despair at your triumphant racism.

I laugh at your smugness, with your massive house and garden and cheating girlfriends and four children. Well done you!

But your life must be so void of meaning if the only way you can explain your own unhappiness is the bloody foreigners...and the black people. For your information, black people and all kinds of foreigners have lived in this country for centuries, and you are no more a native than them.

I'm a bloody foreigner too you see; I have lived in this country for 10 years, it's my home, I pay my taxes, I love my English home, I give back as much as I can every day.

One day I may be teaching your children.

When you're sick or old, I sure hope the black nurse or doctor that treats you is unaware of the rubbish you hold in that little head of yours.

daftpunk · 27/04/2010 09:49

NK;

I am not smug or unhappy, (sometimes, maybe ?).

If you have been following the 2 threads I'm on, you might have seen the post where I said immigrants have been great for the UK, we wouldn't survive without them, I have never denied that, but there are other issues here,

  1. We can't keep taking everyone, we already have the reputation as being the dumping ground of Europe....they all come here, I wonder why..? Why can't all these poor asylum seekers have a good life in France, because France don't bloody want them that's why...plus, they get benefits here...and loads of them.

  2. We are in danger of losing our identity, maybe that means nothing to you, but I'd like my children to grow up in a Christian country, not a Muslim one.
