My friend was getting wardrobes delivered to my address this morning, i was shattered this morning so i set my alarm and went for a kip on the sofa while ds was playing. Ds (17months) took my phone and put it in the bath! dont even know how he managed to get in there as the door was shut. i've now missed the delivery and my friends dp has had to come home from work to meet the delivery man

I am just amazed the toddler actually let her sleep! There is no way mine would leave me alone long enough to nod off.

IngridFletcher · 13/04/2010 15:37

Battykoda - If I saw a thread about sex chat lines, which possibly may have been why it came to mind when thinking of bad things to do with phones, I did not for one moment link it to you. That would be snide and nasty and although you have no reason to know this, I am neither - honestly. Sorry though for any inadvertant offence.

Sassybeast · 13/04/2010 15:43

I am very touched

BattyKoda · 13/04/2010 16:30

Ingrid - No offence taken, I took it as a joke anyway, made me laugh!

Bonnyandborris · 13/04/2010 17:18

No you are not really, these things happen????.there are far worse places to fall asleep when looking after your child (like driving your car for instance!)

I?ve fallen asleep on the lounge floor when I toddler was playing, I was pregnant and just very tired. At the end of the day I used to have to go and collect my partner from work so I thought it better to fall asleep at home than in the car. It?s not ideal but I bet more than a few people do it.

Niftyblue · 13/04/2010 17:59

Can`t believe this is still going on

Must be great to perfect mums
To be able to cope on little sleep

I nap when my almost 3 yr old DS is awake, but he's gated in his room w/books and toys and my room is literally two and a half feet away. I've only felt comfortable with that this year though. We used to doze on the couch together while he watched a DVD, but I'd wake up if he got up.

OP, I don't think you're a twat. But. Recently a woman I know of lost her two year old daughter b/c the little girl put a plastic bag over her head and suffocated while her babysitter was in the next room. Be careful, ok?

TheLadyEvenstar · 13/04/2010 23:47

I had a sleep in the day as well - never again

lollopops · 14/04/2010 00:18

What medication are you on OP?

I really do sympaphise with you, having had 3 children under 2 for a while(twins and an 18 month old) I only remember once being able to sleep for an hour in the day, but that was whilst they were all sleeping.

Is there any way your medication could be reduced or changed? I would have a word with your doctor.

Sleep deprivation is a nightmare but I'm afraid it's part and parcel of having children.

Hope you get it sorted and pleased your toddler came to no harm

lollopops · 14/04/2010 00:20

...and let's face it. If any of us were perfect, we wouldn't be sat on mumsnet!

SusieCarmichael · 14/04/2010 00:27

hi lady

just an observation but how come ladyevenstars thread got a whole load of sympathy and this thread got so nasty? its a similar thing isn't it? (def don't want lady to be flamed, i just think we could give op here some slack too)

my story:

oh yes, you can sleep with a toddler around believe me! i fell asleep at around six in the morning once after dd (about 12mos) had woken me up very early one day, i had baby proofed the living room totally but how was i supposed to know there was a dead fly on the floor! yep thats right, i woke up to dd chewing, yes chewing on it
