My friend was getting wardrobes delivered to my address this morning, i was shattered this morning so i set my alarm and went for a kip on the sofa while ds was playing. Ds (17months) took my phone and put it in the bath! dont even know how he managed to get in there as the door was shut. i've now missed the delivery and my friends dp has had to come home from work to meet the delivery man

ambu or am i a twat of the highest order!!!!!

he's allowed to play in the hall and the livingroom with his toys, i have a stair gate on the kitchen door and the rest of the doors are shut which he can usually not get open, i fell asleep for 30mins, i'm on medication with terrible side effects and had a rough night last night, i literally couldnt keep my eyes open this morning, its not something i do on a regular basis, this was a 1 off

Monkeybum,I would suggest that the comments are about an unsupervised toddler, bath full of water or not -what about the toilet anyway -still enough water in that.

Trillian - Tis possible, see my post

runnybottom · 13/04/2010 13:31

Do most of you leave your bath randomly full of water?

cheesesarnie · 13/04/2010 13:33

op no your not a twat.it was a one off,im presuming toddler is ok?!you missed a delivery,no big deal-explain to friend and then try to find someone to look after dc while you catch up on some sleep.

BattyKoda · 13/04/2010 13:35

Vinegar

DebiNewberry · 13/04/2010 13:36

So, your v small toddler managed to take your phone, leave it in the hopefully empty bath, so you didn't hear it ring and you didn't hear the doorbell ring either? You're on such strong medication that you slept through all of that?

mummysgoingmad · 13/04/2010 13:36

mamsnet are you honestly suggesting i deserve to have ss involvment due to a 30min kip?? I feel they may have bigger fish to fry!!

ShadeofViolet · 13/04/2010 13:37

Yes, you are a Twat.

Eve4Walle · 13/04/2010 13:37

Well, that was a wake up call then wasn't it? He CAN open the door, as he proved this morning, unless you have a ghost opening doors for him.

FWIW, my DS (now 2.4), learnt to open doors at about the same age.

mamsnet · 13/04/2010 13:38

No, I'm not saying that, I'm not that self righteous! I am saying that you need to think things through more clearly.

My reference to ss was in despair..

mummysgoingmad · 13/04/2010 13:39

i dont have a doorbell, i live in a flat and i'm waiting for my buzzer to be fixed.. it was an argos van so they rung my friend 15mins before they were due to arrive so i should have been looking out the window at the time.

BattyKoda · 13/04/2010 13:40

Why did you set your alarm? Did they give a specific time for delivery (unusual)?

LittleMrsHappy · 13/04/2010 13:40

Im lol-ing at the hes allowed to play in the hall and living room with his toys.

SORRY BUT LOL LOL LOL LOL, as most 17 month babies know right from wrong

tethersend · 13/04/2010 13:41

You have opened up a whole new world for me.... it's possible to sleep with a toddler?

Please don't burst my bubble, I've only had it 5 minutes.

BattyKoda · 13/04/2010 13:41

So your toddler could access your whole home whilst you were apparently in a coma. Kitchen as well I presume?!?

Niftyblue · 13/04/2010 13:42

Twat ,troll whatever this thread

There is nothing wrong in sleeping in the day with a 17 month old
As long as you know that your dc is as safe as possible

Face it you sleep at night and 17 months can still wake up then
If ya get my drift
You take the care in the day as you do at night

mamsnet · 13/04/2010 13:43

But Nifty!
A 17mth old is in his COT at night.

tethersend · 13/04/2010 13:44

mummysgoingmad is not a troll, she is a regular poster.

Eve4Walle · 13/04/2010 13:44

Nifty - the difference is, and this is an assumption, that at 17 months the child would sleep at night in a cot, which he wouldn't be able to get out of.

I think I am unusually lucky as my DS still sleeps in a cot which he can't climb out of, so I know for a fact that he's safe in there.

Sassybeast · 13/04/2010 13:46

Your friend is a twat for buying furniture from Argos

Niftyblue · 13/04/2010 13:47

YES I know you are right
But people do sleep when toddlers are awake

IngridFletcher · 13/04/2010 13:47

Her kitchen and rest of the flat may be baby proof. He only put a phone in an empty bath he didn't phone a sex chat line.

skidoodly · 13/04/2010 13:47

You really shouldn't leave a toddler unsupervised while you sleep. At that age they have no sense at all and are liable to do themselves damage in the safest environments if nobody is looking after them.

Have you anybody that could help you out so you could get a little sleep if you're so tired from the meds?
