To think that freebleeding is a bit [envy]

I have just heard of freebleeding on here whereby no sanitary protection is used . I admit that i am open to most things but this The practicalities of it must be enormous you would never leave home. I know that it would not be for me as my periods are quite heavy, even with big sanitary pads I manage to leak over my trousers, on my legs. Once when i was out i leaked through my jeans, as i got off the bus i realised must have been on the seat aswell, imagine no sanitary protection.

How does someone manage outside the house where there is limited washing facilities, must be really uncomfortable and and messy. I will probably get flamed for my views but i am prepared and armed with my hard hat. I would try reusuable sanitary protection for later on in my period but no protection

O just google reusable sanpro Pooh... lots out there!

Quattrocento · 04/04/2010 23:33

ROFL at this.

When it becomes socially acceptable to walk around with huge bloody patches pretty well all over my clothes, I'll take up the cause of freebleeding. That'd be a testament to my feminism.

While I'm at it, I'll campaign for free dry cleaning for the results of my freebleeding.

The bills would be pretty enormous though. Not just my clothes, but my chair at work, my cars, my sofas, my bed ... I'd need a new mattress every month.

pigletmania · 04/04/2010 23:38

Notanumber if you have read my posts i was looking for a vom boak emotion, thought that i could put a green icon in my title which i could not hence the envy in between brackets my mistake

I dont envy freebleeding btw would absolutely hate to be covered in blood for a week, staying in the house not able to come out, all the laundry required and numbers of black knickers i would need i find it hard even with sanitary protection let alone without.

It's bad manners to smear your bodily fluids everywhere. That's my objection.

Quattrocento · 04/04/2010 23:42

Ah but wukter, you need to understand that you've been conditioned to think like this. A month or two of freebleeding would soon get you thinking that it's just the way things ought to be, were we not so blinkered ...

strandedatsea · 04/04/2010 23:44

Dammit I read the whole of this thread hoping that someone would come on and say "what are you all so worried about? I am a free bleeder, so shoot me" and we could all be

Incidentally I also have read Red Tent.

Valpollicella · 04/04/2010 23:49

But who has the time to be a free bleeder? SAHM or WOHM there is no way any of us could spend time bleeding into straw...

wukter · 04/04/2010 23:49

Conditioning...how can we break the cycle?

I just won't bother potty training DD. Simply remove her nappies. I suggest you all join me.

Valpollicella · 04/04/2010 23:51

Free shitting an all that Wukter

Valpollicella · 04/04/2010 23:54

Middle of M&S

LittleWukter:Mummy I neeeed to pooooo

Wukter: Just let it out darling. It's perfectly natural

Littlewukter:gnnn ..hhmpph... Done!

Wukter: Amazing! You free pooed! How naturally you expressed your bodily functions

wukter · 04/04/2010 23:54

I hate passing on our guilt and shame about our natural bodily fluids to our children, Valpollicella.

wukter · 04/04/2010 23:57

Exactly!

It's only ok if my children do it. I don't want to be stepping over everyone else's effluents as I make my way to the chocolate lentil aisle.

Valpollicella · 04/04/2010 23:58

Please see my post about 6 seconds before yours Wukter

x posting

catastrojb · 05/04/2010 08:37

Don't have anything to add, but ROFL at all this! WMMC, love the cat-flap idea - my dd is a sun-roof baby! And thanks to another pp I am now mis-reading Freebled....

But it's really not for me, despite v light periods ( for all those with v heavy ones - my mother suffers so I do feel for you). With bf I already feel enough of a beast (and, as an aside, frequently make flour in my bras, which are so large I can provide for a small african nation) without dripping blood as well as milk everywhere. Nothing against the animal kingdom, I'm proud to be a member, but I do enjoy feeling and smelling nice which I think would be jeopardised by looking like a Reservoir Snail had crawled down my leg .

I do go productless at night after the first night or two though. Gotta live a little.

pigletmania · 05/04/2010 09:35

ROFL@ Wukter oh dear what a lot of cleaning up.

I read this thread last night and then dreamt I was free-bleeding. Yuck. Thanks folks!

lotster · 05/04/2010 09:50

Yanbu- rancid.

biddyofsuburbia · 05/04/2010 09:54

oooooh, ooooooh, (in the manner of Nessa) WHAT? I didn't see that thread and never heard of this and now I've read this, words fail me. I can only assume that people who go productless at night have a lot of black pants because in my experience it is more than a bugger of a job to get any stains out of any other colour. As for getting it all over the sheets - how can that make you feel good? I will stick with the tampons and the pads thanks very much!

shockers · 05/04/2010 09:58

I'd love to see folk's reation to me freebleeding. Even with 2 night-time pads, freshly applied, I can't go half an hour without bleeding down my jeans to my knees during the first two days. I pass clots the size of oranges too.
It's a nice idea to sit around chatting while others get on with your 'duties' but not really practical these days.

sockmonkey · 05/04/2010 10:09

Nemo LOL at Bra-Flour, I'm BF at the moment, I could add an egg and make pancakes

Periods are so heavy for me it's hard enough to keep clothes clean even when I am wearing sanpro. Ick.

lotster · 05/04/2010 10:19

Thanks Shockers, was about to have an orange for my cold but it seems to er, have lost it's appeal!

Perhaps I should try "free-snotting"...

shockers · 05/04/2010 10:23

Apparently, kiwis are a good source of vit C.

southeastastra · 05/04/2010 10:24

sounds like a load of wank
