To think that freebleeding is a bit [envy]

I have just heard of freebleeding on here whereby no sanitary protection is used . I admit that i am open to most things but this The practicalities of it must be enormous you would never leave home. I know that it would not be for me as my periods are quite heavy, even with big sanitary pads I manage to leak over my trousers, on my legs. Once when i was out i leaked through my jeans, as i got off the bus i realised must have been on the seat aswell, imagine no sanitary protection.

How does someone manage outside the house where there is limited washing facilities, must be really uncomfortable and and messy. I will probably get flamed for my views but i am prepared and armed with my hard hat. I would try reusuable sanitary protection for later on in my period but no protection

And here was me just hoping freebleeding was a way to save plasters

Icky!

BuzzingNoise · 04/04/2010 20:13

I don't like the idea at all. How about free-weeing? Free-pooing? They're natural too.

ouryve · 04/04/2010 20:13

"Mind you, sometimes I wish I had heavier, more draining periods. All that looking after yourself, nice hot water bottles and snuggly fleece pjs and a comforting hot drink with a couple of paracetamol..."

My kids have yet to get that memo. For me it's paracetamol, ibuprofen and even loperamide and do my utmost best to carry on as usual, no matter how lousy, sick and crampy I feel or how heavily I'm bleeding.

BitOfFun · 04/04/2010 20:13

I agree with you there actually. Nothing inherently disgusting or anything.

onebatmother · 04/04/2010 20:13

I'm going to try freeshitting.

MisSalLaneous · 04/04/2010 20:14

rofl at whomovedmychocolate!

I'm sorry, I am sure I must be offending someone, but I'm with the OP in thinking it's really really really not my cup of tea.

allegrageller · 04/04/2010 20:14

heh Alouise, I've known a few that kind of did (oh sorry tmi again :D)

allegrageller · 04/04/2010 20:15

oh if it just means leakinga bit surely we've all done that...

whomovedmychocolate · 04/04/2010 20:17

I'll go for freefarting - everyone over sixty seems to do this anyway.

StealthPolarBear · 04/04/2010 20:18

lol at freesnotting
Never heard of freebleeding, but I hate periods. Had two since summer 2006 and could quite happily never have aother. How do I achieve this, other than another pregnancy?

StealthPolarBear · 04/04/2010 20:19

And mine aren't that bad really, they are just an inconvenience (I don't need the loo as often as I need to go!) and annoying.

allegrageller · 04/04/2010 20:22

stealthpolar was going to say I envy you the 2 periods since 2006- but if you've been continually pregnant or lactating all that time I'm not sure I do

allegrageller · 04/04/2010 20:23

actually as I recall lactating was fine, it was the pregnancy bit I couldn't handle, preferred menstruating to that!!

SpeedyGonzalez · 04/04/2010 20:24

wmmc - isn't freefarting a natural consequence of having birthed children vaginally? Surely it's nature's revenge to our children!

whomovedmychocolate · 04/04/2010 20:26

Dunno, two kids, both catflap jobs here

I fear free-whinging may be popular round here though

TheMysticMasseuse · 04/04/2010 20:27

i have read a bit of the blog

her dp used to fold reusable sanitary pads for his mum

weird oedipal stuff going on there

still, glad they found each other!

(ps i like thed red tent idea of doing nothing much for a few days but straw... a bit itchy, non?)

posieparker · 04/04/2010 20:27

OBM...you owe me a keyboard as it's covered in red wine that I have just spat out laughing!

BuckBuckMcFate · 04/04/2010 20:28

I read free-bled as freeble-d

allegrageller · 04/04/2010 20:34

ah freeshitting, ds2 is great at that. Blog idea?

SpeedyGonzalez · 04/04/2010 20:34

Rofl at catflap jobs!

ant3nna · 04/04/2010 20:41

TheMysticMasseuse, I used to read that blog back in the day. When she says that her boyfriend folded pads for his mum she means that he helped her make the cloth pads she sold. Which is a little less strange

luciemule · 04/04/2010 20:51

I didn't know people nowadays in western society freebled but I'm intrigued to learn more (just out of interest - not to freebleed myself!). However, a few weeks ago, I did read an Amercian article about being able to swim without any santiary protection because the body stops bleeding when in water. Sounds great but not so sure it would completely - imagine if you were in your local pool and started leaving a trail!

lou031205 · 04/04/2010 20:53

I am dreading my first period after DD3 (11 months). I had a period in February 2005, (then DD1), then 3 in 2006 (then DD2), then no more yet....stopped feeding DD3 last month so it must be just around the corner

MisSalLaneous · 04/04/2010 20:59

luciemule, my PE teacher at school said the same, and whilst I can believe that for the part that you're actually in the water, what happens once you get out and walk to the changing rooms?? I can see something going majorly wrong at the steps...

Mooncupflowethover · 04/04/2010 21:03

luciemule...how come I bleed in the bath then?
