Naughty boys, who need to be punished....puke.

A few men post on MN and we turn into give me some chocolate, girly, twirlies...puke.

They sound like a bunch of anorak wearing, living at home with mum, nerds to me.

ToccataAndFudge · 01/04/2010 12:11

no ignore the chocolate thing - that was big tech farting around for April fools - everytime someone put "chocolate" into a sentence a picture appeared

"wow i missed all this how cheeky they are to suggest we will invade them with 'my mouse isn't working' questions when one of their own had to have trolling on a proxy server mansplained to him "

That's about the standard we get in our technical area. When I did support about 15 years ago (jesus!!) I had one guy who asked me what he should do when he got to the edge of his desk with his mouse - To be fair he'd not used one before and didn't realise you could pick them up and carry on! We had another woman who you could hear banging away with her mouse anytime she was told to do something and we couldn't work out why. When somebody visited her desk they found that she had cut her mouse mat down to a couple of inches square to save desk space. I also know of a guy who used to use his mouse on it's back, rolling the ball with his thumb - we only found that one because he wanted to know how to swap the buttons over (like you do for left handed users)

So mouse questions feel free!

It seems that the children have been fighting in the playground about this..

boys will be boys

claw3 · 01/04/2010 12:59

I didnt see the threads they started, so perhaps i have got the wrong end of the stick.

What i did see on their site was posters taking the piss out of the gay parents section on here and offering to donate their 'load' to lesbians and lesbian being butch, the usual stereo typing thing and i only read a couple of pages of the thread. Things that would normally outrage quite a few on here if said by a women.

I have noticed since the 'raid' a thread for 'what naughty boys they are who should be punished' and what seems like a bit of hair twirling. Finding the double standards a bit strange to be honest.

elliemental · 01/04/2010 16:26

I do want their mooning emoticom tho'....

ooojimaflip · 01/04/2010 16:44

I did read the soup thread and thought this woman must be bonkers to post that patronising waffle in AIBU. Looks like those of you who thought it was a troll were right!!!!

I saw one of the 'Ambassador's' threads yesterday, clicked through to their board, but assumed they were builders, not IT contractors. NOW I get it!

Ah, but they're not wholly different from 'us' - they correct each other's spellings too, so that's nice. But they seem to have a special emoticon sign for it, which is - fucking cuntingly shit. Just wanted to do some swearing, as they cannot, poor chaps.

CUKAmbassador · 16/04/2011 17:53

Ah. You mean our spelling emoticon. It's not great but it has significance.

It is actually in honour of a poster on CUK who was famous for correcting posters spelling. He had been on the site since it was set up in 1997. He was killed in a car accident and subsequently the board put up a 'spelling' emoticon for him.

HazeltheMcWitch · 16/04/2011 18:42

Are you serious (about the in memory of) ? Nice if you are.

Have you had fun here? You have been busy!
