Gay40 - I think the situation with SAHP is more complex than you imply. In the majority of cases both partners will have been working beforehand and will therefore have both contributed to any assets in common such as houses etc. The economic value of child care is not zero so that will also have to be taken into account. Your estimate of a shag every evening also seems to me to be suspect.

I'd argue though that your whole hypothesis is wrong, and that it's better to see the couple as a unit in economic terms, and that decisions that couple make as to who works, looks after the kids etc. is based on a complex algebra based on a particular couples needs.

Gay40 - Missed off - i think your assertion that sexual services are exchange for money in relationships involving SAHP VASTLY overvalues the sexual services, and undervalues all the others.
