To hope Moben kitchens go bankrupt?

Obviously only after they have sorted out all the atrocious kitchens they have fitted thus far. If you are considering using them then for the love of God....DON'T. Just Google Moben and see details of the trail of misery they have caused. SPREAD THE WORD

Crikey, are they still around? My parents got a Moben kitchen fitted back when I was about 11 (so many, many, many years ago)

They fell for the Moben sales patter. It was a pretty crap kitchen but had a "carousel" which my deluded mum thought was great

At least they never fell for the Kirby salesman...

vidia · 26/03/2010 16:29

Moben are terrible, we had a kitchen from them in our last house. Appalling experience, was 4 years ago and still not forgotten. They are a shameful company and there are tales of woe regarding moben all over mumsnet and all over the internet.

Well done for spreading the word OP. I really hope this thread discourages people from using them.

Just for people to note: the nice salesman is not allowed to get involved again after he's made the sale - I tried to phone mine so that he could help me out of the terrible mess and he told me he wanted to help me, but at Moben, it is a sacking offence to deal with a customer after the sale.

Be warned.

abride · 26/03/2010 16:38

Shame about the staff who'll lose their jobs, though.

vidia · 26/03/2010 16:48

abride - there are hardly any staff at Moben, that's the problem! I found out that there were 2 ladies answering the telephone to the entire country on the line which you had to call after the sale had taken place. That's why you'd wait 15 minutes for an answer and then the machine would cut you off.

Additionally, most of the kitchen fitters are contractors and do other work anyway, so they won't lose their jobs.

tarantula · 26/03/2010 16:50

We had a Moben Sales person come round when we were lookign at kitchens and he was the rudest man ever. He slagged off all the other companies and refused to leave till I signed a paper saying that I wouldnt buy a kitchen off them. So I did I signed it as Ms F. O. Anddie.

abride · 26/03/2010 16:54

THat's good.

I had a Moben once. Wasn't that great, have to say.

MobenKitchens · 26/03/2010 22:43

We take any problems our customers have very seriously at Moben, and should anyone have any issues that have not been resolved to their satisfaction then we would ask you contact us directly on 0845 603 3020. Or e-mail us directly at [email protected].

Sheas - please do message us (either by the address above, or the contact poster facility) with your details and I will make sure someone gets in touch.

shakingmyfattybumbum · 26/03/2010 22:59

Are Moben also Kitchens Direct because they are SHITE.

ShadeofViolet · 26/03/2010 23:21
Hmm
sheas · 27/03/2010 11:11

Reply to 'MobenKitchens'; I have been ringing you to try and sort our problems out so there is no need for me to ring you again and identify myself to you. Your customer service staff and sales people are RUDE AND DISINTERESTED. How about you turn over a new leaf on Monday and ANYONE who rings in with a problem is dealt with in a professional and helpful manner. Does the saying 'the customer is always right' not apply to you lot? IMO You will be out of business fairly shortly if you carry on like this.

ThatVikRinA22 · 27/03/2010 11:18

thanks for the warning Sheas.

think youve rattled someones cage there...hope you get sorted.

GerbilMeasles · 27/03/2010 11:28

Yes Fattybumbum (nice name) Moben and Kitchens Direct used to be the same firm AFAIK - friend's son worked for them in a call centre when he was at uni. They would know whether it was a call for Moben or KD depending on the number which had been rung but they all went through to the same staff. There were a couple of other companies in the same group as well - bathrooms as well as kitchens.

ImSoNotTelling · 27/03/2010 11:28

Oooh sheas! It's like watchdog where as soon as someone goes on the telly all their problems are immediately resolved. If you email them I am sure they will sort it out for you, given this thread.

(Not to say they aren't still shite though, never used them myself, but if they're the lot affiliated to dolphin bathrooms I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole).

Owls · 27/03/2010 11:32

Oh yes Dolphin Bathrooms dreadful. Avoid, avoid, advoid.

MobenKitchens · 27/03/2010 11:56

Sheas - I would like to arrange someone to get in touch with you, to talk your problems through directly. Unfortunately as I do not have your name or order number I cannot at present look into this for you.

Please do get in touch if you would like assistance.

poorbuthappy · 27/03/2010 11:58

Moben - by the looks of this thread I would just ring all your customers, I'm sure you'll hit Sheas eventually...

BattyKoda · 27/03/2010 12:03

Am I the only one who is about Moebn being on MN? Or is this the norm? If so... if you're about NPOWER I would appriciate someone contacting me about the massive fuck up on our bill....thanks

BattyKoda · 27/03/2010 12:04

I meant Moben, obviously! And appreciate

ImSoNotTelling · 27/03/2010 12:10

Start a thread with slagging npower off by name in the title and see what happens. you never know!

I have seen it quite a lot - and it has happened to me. Some of these threads come out rignt near the top when you google and so it's not surprising they see them - and then of course with MN in the news so much at the moment and with so many users they try damage limitation.

if I were the OP I would be taking them up on their offer pronto.

MrsHappy · 27/03/2010 12:16

LMAO at Dolphin Bathrooms.

They came to see my DH (I had told him not to ask them to quote but some people don't listen!). He chose bog standard (forgive the pun) fittings and they quoted....£40,000 for a bathroom!

We honestly didn't ask for gold plated loo brushes, marble basins or other pricey items. All we want is a break from the ancient avocado suite!

They then applied their discounts and came down to a marvellous £16,000!

I think a bathroom, incl labour, unless you are doing something special should be c. £6k or less (we are in London). We obviously never followed up so can't comment on the service, but clearly on the quoting front they just pick numbers from the air. Afterall, if a bathroom is worth £40k or £16k then presumably it is also worth £50?

How many people actually fall for the Dolphin Bathrooms schtick? Amazed they sell enough to stay afloat tbh.

And is DolphinBathrooms around to comment on their strange pricing structure? I think they are the same company as Moben, so maybe MobenKitchens has a view?

ImSoNotTelling · 27/03/2010 12:24

When I had dolphin in to quote they said £15K. I lived in a tiny tiny flat, not enough room to swing a cat in the bathroom, was ridiculous.

They also tried to convince me that i could have one of those special shower baths which are bigger at one end. As I had said I liked them. When I pointed out that having one meant that I wouldn't be able to open the door properly I was told that that wasn't a problem

Caoimhe · 27/03/2010 12:31

PMSL at MobenKitchens coming on here!

Come on, Moben, seek out sheas and ye shall find!!!

shakingmyfattybumbum · 27/03/2010 12:41

I am so very much enjoying this thread. Our experience with Kitchens Direct was awful. A 4 DAY JOB TOOK TWO WEEKS. Sorry about caps, am typing single handedly - wriggly baby on my knee.

They left us without water for a couple of days despite us having a small bottle fed baby and every time I rang, all I got was the damn call centre who couldn't get hold of any of the workmen.tHE QUALITY IS CRAP and we are still paying the damn thing off!!

shakingmyfattybumbum · 27/03/2010 12:42

Even the local plumbers whom they contracted told me 'We don't want to work with them anymore. We will end up on Watchdog'.

You have been warned...

sheas · 27/03/2010 18:50

To MobenKitchens-Can you give us your name and position in the company so I can check you are a genuine Moben contact????
