To want to leave the kids with their baby alarm whilst I nip out?

My boyfriends out this weekend with his mates like and I'm stuck at home with the kids. A few of my mates are gonna be in the Rose and Crown, just across the road from here. I was gonna go and join them like, but obviously take the baby alarm so I could keep an eye out like. But my mam says this is well dodgy. I don't reckon is it cause I can even see our house from the pub.

What does you lot reckon?

ROFL.

ShinyAndNew · 04/03/2010 13:17

How old? If they are all under, say 12, then your mum is right.

bernadetteoflourdes · 04/03/2010 13:18

Where is wayne cant he do it? Are you Norwegian too Colleen and do you ALSO have a pathological fear of spectacles?

ColeenR · 04/03/2010 13:18

Yeh I know, I laughed when she said it like! I've been doing it for years and nowt has happened, but she reckons I'll get flamed if I admitted that on here. So guwn then, flame us.

I suppose that if the house burns down at least you'll be able to ring the fire brigade from the pub...

Is it still half term? Or has easter come early??

swanandduck · 04/03/2010 13:19

Well, I can understand you don't want to miss a good night out in the pub. But leaving the kids on there own is very irresponsible. You should bring them with you. There will be lots of other adults around who will stop the jumping off bar stools and running out the door, and you can relax and enjoy yourself with your mates.

runnybottom · 04/03/2010 13:19

I reckon you're going to get well battered if people here think you're serious.
I think you're messing though.

(I claim MN bingo on the first mention of MM though)

swanandduck · 04/03/2010 13:20

their own, even.

you · 04/03/2010 13:20

Ha! Much too obvious... must try harder

Morloth · 04/03/2010 13:21

It isn't school holidays is it?

Mrsdoasyouwouldbedoneby · 04/03/2010 13:21

I am new to mumsnet, but I suspect that the Rose and Crown is under a bridge. It should be fine tho, as long as the Billy Goats Gruff don't mind baby sitting.

ColeenR · 04/03/2010 13:23

Ah feck off the lot of yer! Stupid middle class mumsies, what do you lot know about pubs anyhow? If they don't serve Pimms you lot ain't interested are yer? I feel sorry for yer, never having a life and that, must be hard being a 50s housewife.

You mean The Rose and Crown SOFT PLAY CENTRE......ahhh, well in that case I think you're very selfish leaving the other kids behind.

bernadetteoflourdes · 04/03/2010 13:25

Er Col love, the scouse accent isn't quite cutting it TBH are you really Jez Kyle?

waitingforglasto · 04/03/2010 13:25

Take them with you in your oversized handbag - like a small dog...

GetOrfMoiLand · 04/03/2010 13:27

Lol Colleen. Yes you will be remembered now!

swanandduck · 04/03/2010 13:27

Well Colleen, sometimes you just have to make sacrifices when you have children, like getting bladdered in front of the telly instead of off your face down the pub. It's called being a 'good mother'.

ColeenR · 04/03/2010 13:27

Well the last time I went down to the wetherspoons in town like, well I couldn't take him in cause they wouldn't let him like, this being my eldest an all! Said no kids allowed after 9pm, it was only fucking 10.30! So I had to tie im to bloody railing didn't I like? Couldn't have him wandering streets on his own at that time of night, I ain't totally irresponsible like.

OP posts:
Mrsdoasyouwouldbedoneby · 04/03/2010 13:29

Did you leave him a bowl of water? Bottle of coke? Bag of crisps?

GoddessInTheKitchen · 04/03/2010 13:30

ColeenR · 04/03/2010 13:30
