Every time he comes on I want to throw the screen out of the window.

OP posts:
Hulababy · 20/01/2010 09:36

Would love to see Peter Kay, but couldn't get hold of tickets. My sister is going at the end of this year; very jealous!

Hulababy · 20/01/2010 09:38

Really didn't like Frankie Boyle live. He was too coarse for me (and I am not of that delicate a disposition honest) and not even funny with it, much more so than when on TV, etc. Very disappointed. And Frank Skinner, several years ago, was dreadful.

icedgems · 20/01/2010 09:41

The funniest one I saw live was Alan Davies (Jonathan Creek/QI) found him very entertaining.

Chandon · 20/01/2010 09:43

He makes me laugh.

he is over exposed though.

His line up of rugby players singing the National Anthem had me PMSL.

I also think he is a cute little posh boy, he looks so cuddly, I´d take him home for a pet!

YANBU, but I don´t agree!

UnquietDad · 20/01/2010 09:47

He's very funny. I love his routine about Scottish banknotes.

GetOrfMoiLand · 20/01/2010 09:55

I couldn't have sex with someone who spoke like that and whose hair was so bouffant without the aid of products.

That's all I think when I see him. he is rather funny though.

I do prefer my comedians to be less jaunty. Rich Hall is excellent. And also so is that northern bloke who isn't Peter Kay.

I like Peter Kay as well but think I would probably laugh harder if I was northern.

Billy Connolly of 20 years ago when he was at his best, or Dave Allen are my favourite comedians ever.

Yanbu to have your opinion even though it's wrong .

Agree re Lee Evans though, he is headache makingly annoying.

ShowOfHands · 20/01/2010 10:01

Alan Davies is brill doing stand up live. Ditto Ed Byrne.

UD, I too like the Scottish banknotes. I think you'll find they're legal tender.

Have also seen Ross Noble, Dylan Moran, Eddie Izzard, Russ Howard, Bill Bailey recently. All superb.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 20/01/2010 10:05

I like him, but I don't imagine he will be around forever, he's very fashionable. I do love observational homour though.

Bucharest · 20/01/2010 10:05

Alan Davies apparently Very Narsty irl, and I now feel quite sick at the thought of having to have sex with any of them.

Getorf- how do you know there aren't products in MM's hair????

I've just read Dara's book and I might quite like to have sex with him now. (and deffo no hair products)

lucyellensmumagain · 20/01/2010 10:07

lee evans is fucking awful - mysoginistic springs to mind

micheal mc intyre - hes great, although i almost feel embarrased for him sometimes.

Jimmy Carr?? Get me a gun!! Not funny, offensive twunt

ricky gervais for example, is a twat

lucyellensmumagain · 20/01/2010 10:09

oh, i have a very weird crush on Dara o'brien but doesn't he look old for his age!"

DUSTIN · 20/01/2010 10:09

Each to their own. I like Mcintyre and Lee Evans (actually quite fancy Lee Evans- very sad). I must be quite easily pleased as I find alot of comedians funny but it depends what mood I am in. I like Dara O'Briain, Frankie Boyle, Peter Kay, Jimmy Carr. Much funnier when you see them live.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 20/01/2010 10:11

He is very MOR though

DUSTIN · 20/01/2010 10:12

Apparently Vic Reeves has slated Michael Mcintyre saying that his comedy is dated. I think this is a bit rich coming from Vic Reeves who has rehashed Shooting Stars.

WeWantYourDoofDoofs · 20/01/2010 10:12

Best person I have ever seen live is Jim Jeffries, very much of the Frankie Boyle ilk.

MM is fine, his hair irritates me though, love his super fast skipping thing

Al Murray is my most hated "comic" he's not remotely funny imo.

Love old school Carrott and Connolly as well though.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 20/01/2010 10:12

I imagine frankie boyle to be a total nobber. he seems so angry. And not funny. and beardy.

am enjoying rhod gilbert at the moment and stewart lee is always good.

ShowOfHands · 20/01/2010 10:13

I have to disagree with the Alan Davies rl thing.

I think there was An Incident years ago that did his reputation some damage but it wasn't as straightforward as the media presented it.

Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle are NOT funny at all.

BertieBotts · 20/01/2010 10:18

Oh yes Rhod Gilbert is great - loved him on Buzzcocks. Best clip here

Agree that Al Murray is not remotely funny. Whenever I see him I keep expecting him to let out a massive belch and find it entertaining.

I like Russell Howard as well but suspect I am in a minority

GetOrfMoiLand · 20/01/2010 10:20

Oh GOD how can I have forgotten Dara O'Braian.

He is bloody lovely so funny and yes please can I have sex with you Dara?

Bucharest - I suppose it doesn't matter if he uses product or not, just imagine during sex moments (a) you discover his hair has ton of Charles Worthington volume product in it or (b) finding out his hair is naturally so bouyant and springy. I mean, which scenario would be more disgusting.

Why am I considering sex with random comedians at quarter past 10 of a morning?

Chandon · 20/01/2010 10:29

it´s a nice thing to think about on a rainy day!

PS : I think franky Boyle is funny too, I don´t think you have to choose!!!

Bucharest · 20/01/2010 10:30

I imagine MM to be a bit flobby and pale as well.

(that said, doesn't stop me with my thing for Dara)

Russell Howard is OK, but sometimes seems a bit out of his depth with his little t-shirts.

I'm glad Alan Davies isn't a knob as I always like him on things, then I remember the knobby story.

GetOrfMoiLand · 20/01/2010 10:33

What is the Alun Davies knob story?

WeWantYourDoofDoofs · 20/01/2010 10:37

I want to know the Alan Davies Knob Story too

Russell Howard is good but he annoys me by always using that Gollum-esque voice, it creeps me out. and his eyes.
