To be annoyed with my neighbour when my dog bit her ds

RedTartanLass · 10/01/2010 18:08

When my dog squeezed through my neighbour's fence and killed her pet rabbit, I warned her that she should make sure all the gaps in the fence were secure as my little dog can squeeze through anything.

Roll on 2 weeks and my dog got through the fence again and bit their ds, AIBU to think it's my neighbour's responsibly to look after her ds by ensuring my dog can't get into her garden.

YABu

your dog bit a child and needs to be put down.

Bleatblurt · 10/01/2010 18:09

You are being the unreasonablest unreasonable person ever. [makes up words]

GetOrfMoiLand · 10/01/2010 18:10

TROLLLLLLLLL!!

ChickensHaveFrozenNuggets · 10/01/2010 18:10

YABU. Surely it's your responsibility to make sure that your dog can't attack anyone/anything?

Bleatblurt · 10/01/2010 18:10

Why didn't you make sure all gaps were secure?

littleducks · 10/01/2010 18:11

WTF? Are you taking the piss?

Your dog, your responsibility! You close gaps, stick it on lead, supervise it

It killed her rabbit, then bit her son????

travellingwilbury · 10/01/2010 18:11

and nutter

Lifeinagoldfishbowl · 10/01/2010 18:11

TROLL and if not - put down the dog - ha killed an animal and hurt a child

edam · 10/01/2010 18:11

If this is for real, I think you need to say bye-bye to the dear doggie. Because he'll be put down, whether you like it or not, if your neighbour goes to the police.

Blu · 10/01/2010 18:11

It may well be her fence, and her repsonsibility to maintain it, but your attitude doesn't seem very neighbourly, and if you have a dog that kills pets and bites children then i would have thought that you would do your utmost to mak sure that it can't get anywhere where it will do such damage.

Heqet · 10/01/2010 18:12

No. How is your dog getting to her fence? I assume it is the boundary between your two properties?

If so, then secure it yourself!

If it's some other fence - how is your dog getting to it?

However you look at it - it's your fault.

And if your dog is attacking children now, it needs to be dealt with.

sunburntats · 10/01/2010 18:12

Are you for REAL???

Are you SERIOUS???

Please tell us that you are of course joking?

purpleturtle · 10/01/2010 18:12

YABU. Your responsibility to keep your dog in.

Tryharder · 10/01/2010 18:12

You cannot be serious. This is a wind-up right?

TBH, if the neighbours dog got through my fence and killed my rabbit and then bit my son, I would be complaining to the relevant authorities to get this out of control creature put down. Or I would be leaving out bowls of dog food with rat poison in. Seriously.

Block up the fence yourself. It's your dog.

Goblinchild · 10/01/2010 18:13

Wait until her chickens come and get you in the middle of the night.

shootfromthehip · 10/01/2010 18:13

Oh FFS

TheBolter · 10/01/2010 18:14

{shock} Please tell me this isn't for real.

Vallhala · 10/01/2010 18:14

Troll.

If it was for real, incidently, the dog would not be PTS as the incident occurred on private property.

Still think its a load of made-up, attention seeking Trollism though!

RustyBear · 10/01/2010 18:14

I can only assume that this is one of those 'reverse the situation & see what people say' threads, otherwise I can't believe the OP is serious....

Mamazon · 10/01/2010 18:14

no i think its your responsibility not to be a twunt.

YOUR dog your job to keep it enclosed.

I hope she reports your dog and it gets taken away from you. i also hope you are never allowed to own another one as you are clearly nto capable of acting responsibly

Heqet · 10/01/2010 18:14

Unless - is it your son that has been bitten by the neighbours dog and this is what she's saying to you?

given your post on the other thread about dogs, and chickens, this seems a bit at odds with it, if taken at face value.

pixiestix · 10/01/2010 18:14

Gotta be a wind up

JustAnotherManicMummy · 10/01/2010 18:14

Yawn. Lazy trolling

maristella · 10/01/2010 18:14

best of luck op - if someone's mutt bit my child i would fight tooth and nail to have it destroyed.

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern · 10/01/2010 18:14

Was it your DS that was bitten and living next door to a dodgy neighbour?
Whichever one the dog owner is VU.
