To be annoyed with my neighbour when my dog bit her ds

RedTartanLass · 10/01/2010 18:08

When my dog squeezed through my neighbour's fence and killed her pet rabbit, I warned her that she should make sure all the gaps in the fence were secure as my little dog can squeeze through anything.

Roll on 2 weeks and my dog got through the fence again and bit their ds, AIBU to think it's my neighbour's responsibly to look after her ds by ensuring my dog can't get into her garden.

You need to scan this thread..
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/890691-to-think-that-dog-walkers-should-keep-their-dogs -on

ShinyAndNew · 10/01/2010 18:15

Is this something to do with that other thread about the dog and the chickens?

Heqet · 10/01/2010 18:15

ahem.

Bleatblurt · 10/01/2010 18:16

I dont want to scan the other blardy thread. I want to read a thread and be able to take it at face value without people playing silly buggers.

[low blood sugar grumpyness]

JustAnotherManicMummy · 10/01/2010 18:17

Oh FFS if I have to start doing research on other threads before posting I'll have to kiss goodbye to RL

AmazingBouncingFerret · 10/01/2010 18:17

I have a dog. She has never bit anyone. When I do finally get a house with a garden I will make sure all of it is secure because, my dog, my responsibilty. You just never know what can happen.
If this is true, which I think its not, YADBU.
If its not true and you are just bored then you are still BU

SixtyFootDoll · 10/01/2010 18:17

yawn

loubielou31 · 10/01/2010 18:18

If this is another "just to see how irrate people will get" thread then it is getting very boring!

If this is real and I was your neighbour I would be going to the police and would be requesting that your dog was put down!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 10/01/2010 18:19

Oh ok then lol! I kept away from that thread because dog threads always wind me up, but just couldnt help myself with this one!

ShinyAndNew · 10/01/2010 18:19

Well firstly the other op has no fence. Not one that needs repairing. No one said that the dogs shouldn't be kept under control, only that it is her responsibilty to keep her chickens safe.

Most dogs would chase and kill a chicken if given the chance. Only an agressive dog would bite a child.

This scenario is not at all comparable with the one in the other op.

madamearcati · 10/01/2010 18:21

In answer to your chicken thread.I think you are shoot any dog offlead that is worrying your chickens.Seriously.

GetOrfMoiLand · 10/01/2010 18:21

Oh, so we are either supposed to read every thread to get any intended inferences, or be psychic.

OK, so you are not a troll but you are trolling, and wasting everyone's time.

What bollocks this thread is.

EdgarAllenSnow · 10/01/2010 18:23

you need to fix the fence - you know if your dog bites a person it can be put down, therefore leaving your fence unfixed (regardless of whose responsibility the boundary is) is just plain negligent.

if your neighbour does not go to the dog warden, you should be very grateful for her understanding.

is this trolling because of that other thread about the chickens??

in both cases - you need to look at what you can do to solve the problem. fix the fence.

NoahAndTheWhale · 10/01/2010 18:24

I am pretty sure this is a real poster - I recognise the name.

I agree with others that a dog that kills another animal and then bites a child is not safe to have around.

pinkandsparkly · 10/01/2010 18:30

Your dog has killed a rabbit and BITTEN A CHILD and you think your NEIGHBOUR is the one at fault?

I really really hope your neighbour has called the police and your dog is taken from you and put down. Hopefully you will also be facing some kind of charge for having an out of control dog. It's a pity the police cannot also charge you for being a deeply ignorant person.

Did you honestly think anyone on here would say that your and your poor wickkle doggy are blameless? Seriously?

malovitt · 10/01/2010 18:33

Vallhalla
"If it was for real, incidently, the dog would not be PTS as the incident occurred on private property."

Really?

Section 5(2) of the Dangerous Dogs Act provides for a warrant to be sought for the seizure of any breed of dog on private premises if they are evidence of any offence ( e.g. being dangerously out of control) under the Act. A magistrate may then decide that the dog must be either kept under control by their owner or destroyed.

LaurieFairyCake · 10/01/2010 18:35

with this weather it must be dead cold under that bridge

really chilly

are your hooves all chapped?

pinkandsparkly · 10/01/2010 18:36

Oh bollocks to you then op, is this some stupid little game to you then? How very clever you are.

KimiLivesInStarbucks · 10/01/2010 18:41

Not only are you unreasonable you are frigging mad.
your dog has twice got in the the next door garden, your dog killed a rabbit and your dog bit a child.
you should make sure your dog is enclosed in your garden, I hope your Neighboure gets the bloody dog put down, if you lived next door to me I would throw over some sausages laced with rat poison.

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 10/01/2010 18:44

What a completely pointless, stupid thread.

No rabbit was killed, no child was bitten. Someone either trying to be clever, and failing or trying to spark a good debate, and failing.

Biscuit
Mamazon · 10/01/2010 18:48

ok i get it now. and your right that it does put a different spin on the other OP. but i think you should have come on a little sooner and explained.

BitOfFun · 10/01/2010 18:48

This situation isn't at all comparable with the other thread. You are being very silly.
