To be annoyed with my neighbour when my dog bit her ds

When my dog squeezed through my neighbour's fence and killed her pet rabbit, I warned her that she should make sure all the gaps in the fence were secure as my little dog can squeeze through anything.

Roll on 2 weeks and my dog got through the fence again and bit their ds, AIBU to think it's my neighbour's responsibly to look after her ds by ensuring my dog can't get into her garden.

Well said thedogsgottago. My JRT would never have hurt my children. Or any child. She would however have torn a seagull to pieces without a second thought if she had ever managed to catch one.

My mums lab, once ate one of my dads rescued pigeons. She is the softest dog you could ever meet. She is scared of kittens fgs. There is no way on earth she could ever be classed as aggressive. A chicken would not last two seconds in her vicinity.

Plus his op is not at all comparable with the other one. just because a dog would hurt a chicken does not mean that it is a danger to a child or adult. To suggest so is ludicrous imo.

Have nOt read all the thread and to be honest i think your a troll or mentally unstable, YOU are ANNOYED wtf!!

Sassybeast · 13/01/2010 12:52

Forgive me - I've had very little sleep. So no child has been bitten or bunny killed ? This is more random making up of stuff to get a reaction ? My head hurts - what is it about this place that attracts the fantasists ?

thesunshinesbrightly · 13/01/2010 12:59

I'm with you Sassy this thread has blew my head

tethersend · 13/01/2010 13:02

Have you a link to the aforementioned cock-up, Jamie?

It'd do me good to know I'm not the only one

onagar · 13/01/2010 13:42

For those who didn't notice, this thread is a spoof of sorts to highlight the ridiculous position taken in the other thread. It worked too as most thought this OP unreasonable.

thedogsgottago, you may be referring to my comment about toddlers. I was making the point that dogs are predators and will if hungry and untrained kill an animal or child smaller than them. This is not hysterical but a simple fact.

This is NOT the dogs fault as that is their nature. The fault is owners who think dogs are fluffy cartoon characters.

A well trained and well fed dog need not normally be a danger.

If a dog is not trained well enough to always obey a recall command then it should be controlled by a lead.

If the owner is not prepared to do one or the other then they should get a goldfish instead.

A link might not make much sense.

Suffice to say I wrote :

Oh Jamie.

I've been there.

amy999 · 13/01/2010 16:03

You should fix the fence. It's your choice to have a dog. i can't believe you even think otherwise.

lucyellensmumagain · 13/01/2010 17:03

oh this has to be a wind up, surely???

lucyellensmumagain · 13/01/2010 17:05

anyway, if this sint a wind up but it is isnt it - if you were my neighbour and your dog killed my rabbit then subesquently got in my garden and bit my child - your dog would be dead

coppit · 13/01/2010 21:06

mummysgoingmad · 13/01/2010 21:22
