to be annoyed with MNHQ's description of the Schools closed thread in Discussions of the Day?

IF you'd bothered to read the thread, MNHQ, you would have seen that it's NOT the teachers who make the decision to close schools, so it's pretty poor of you to call teachers "snow wimps".

I'm still annoyed over when you said ginger-bashing was "acceptable" as well (it isn't), but this is getting silly.

A bit more sense and sensitivity in your descriptions please - people are obviously posting on these threads for them to be discussions of the day without you being all contentious about it!

oh get over yourself!

famishedass · 05/01/2010 17:16

YABU

perhaps you'd feel more at home on netmums.

Hando · 05/01/2010 17:19

I thought the same famish! Hug kiss smile hug!

Errr.. surely it's quite hard for them to come up with rhyming, witty little descriptions to fit in that tiny box. I like them.

Is it not ok to bash ginger people then?

famishedass · 05/01/2010 17:21

You're only allowed to bash catholics on mumsnet, everyone else is beyond reproach including gingers.

StealthPolarBear · 05/01/2010 17:23

Outside, Hando, now, we'll see who bashes who!
(in case you hadn't guessed, I am a ginger )

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 05/01/2010 17:24

Not all of them rhyme.

I think yanbu as it isn't the teachers who make the decisions.

ThumbleBells · 05/01/2010 17:25

obviously no teachers here then..

YANBU - if it rhymed I MAY forgive them but as it doesn't, I won't.

StealthPolarBear · 05/01/2010 17:27

but it's phrased as a question - the implication being that that is the OP's take on the debate. It's not claiming to be MNHQ's opinion, and it doesn't read like that!

pointydig · 05/01/2010 17:30

I think it's meant to be like 'are teachers no wimps', like an amusing pun. Geddit?

You are being far too senstive thumbells

No I don't want "niceness" - just a bit more accuracy and sense.

No comment re netmums - I'd probably get done for libel.

Thumble MNHQ is just using a jokey contentious title to get us to look at the thread.

Somewhat like the Sun does

ThumbleBells · 05/01/2010 18:26

that's funny, Jamie, I was just thinking the same thing - it's just like the Sun titles! . Great minds...

OP posts:
scottishmummy · 05/01/2010 18:30

the point is to be contentious and funny!

hell if you find snow wimp widdle bit offensive wait til someone starts lord mayorin about all the daft twats on mn

pagwatch · 05/01/2010 18:30

but they are not making statements are they?
They are posting the broad gist of the OP on the thread and inviting you to agree or disagree.

Poor MNHQ. Just trying to make board look interesting and accesible to newbies and numpties, and all they get is nit picking.

[big fat suck up]

Jamieandhismagictorch · 05/01/2010 18:32

I was also sucking up to MNHQ (I know it didn't seem like it). I happen to think Sun headlines are a form of evil genius.

Casserole · 05/01/2010 18:41

This is the lamest OP I've ever seen.

scottishmummy · 05/01/2010 18:41

yes it is a doozey

pagwatch · 05/01/2010 18:42

that should be a thread. lamest op ever.....

Probably no risk of upset or offence there.
