I was a Mary at church (but not at school) and swapped the role of Mary mother of Jesus for that of Mary Madgalene when we did some Easter thing at school.

ds1' tree was more of a bush, to be fair - the rest of the trees (all girls) towered over him (shorta*se). dd2 has cp and finds standing still and blowing in the breeze quite a challenge, so was allowed to sit down when the trees weren't actively involved in the proceedings. typecast, those two...

I think the centre position is usually played by the smaller players.

i was Gabriel and always in defence - never made it onto any teams unless they were reallllllly desperate.

My sister was Mary and she was definately a ball game player but for extra curricular activities

I'm 5"11 and was always tall but was centre. I was also nippy and had plenty of stamina
