I have a 'thing' about noisy eating. It makes me want to kill the perpetrator and puke.

H knows this but he has had a couple of beers and appears to have forgotten.

i have not had a good day. I am in a mood. I think i am going to have to kill him.

I really am feeling murderous.

and he's going to expect to sleep in my bed and he'll breathe loudly.

YANBU (and I am so glad I am not the only one to have these murderous thoughts).

busybutterfly · 28/11/2009 22:45

DH snores and it's so much worse when he's had a beer.

You have my sympathies. Has he finished yet?!

WildSheepChase · 28/11/2009 22:46

yanbu.

I find it physically uncomfortable to the extreme.

GentleOtter · 28/11/2009 22:47

Is it the 'snoff snoff' noise with a small schloop at the end?

PacificDogwood · 28/11/2009 22:47

You could always slurp it very loudly. And snore in bed.

YANBU of course.

InMyLittleHead · 28/11/2009 22:48

YANBU. I hate loud eaters.

Chunkamatic · 28/11/2009 22:49

Oh. My. God. YANBU - noisy eating is the work of the devil. A judge would have to let you off if you did actually kill him, do you know that?

You have my utter symapthies - many a time has DP, or my Dad before him, nearly had his head rammed through his dinner plate for such heinous crimes.

It's unacceptable!

cuppycakesong · 28/11/2009 22:52

YANBU!
Kill the b4st4ard!!!

Mishy1234 · 28/11/2009 22:53

YANBU, it's one of my pet hates too.

My brother used to be a noisy eater when we were growing up and it drove me nuts! I never said anything to him though, as it was due to a permanently stuffed nose because of allergies and he couldn't help it.

He's fine now, but I still remember how it used to drive me mad!

Cinemas are bad for this too (I blame the popcorn) and I've been known to walk out of films half way through.

WildSheepChase · 28/11/2009 22:54

My brother has a jaw that works like an amplifier.

When I was pregnant the noise of eating actually made me retch.

UpsyOne · 28/11/2009 22:57

ah, but you have said that you have had a bad day and you are in a mood. He has had a couple of beers. If it wasn't his eating it would be something else.

He is tucking into his meal in another room after enjoying a couple of beers instead of empathising with you.

I do understand and I think we have all been there. But do be aware that you are taking his eating a meal as a personal jab at you.

Hang on Activity, if your talking about strangers then its a whole different ball game - oh my god how I would love to crush the heads of those snuffling truffle pig fockers!

willowstar · 28/11/2009 23:17

so happy in a warped way to see this! I cannot bare (bear?) the sound of eating...I hate it beyond all reason, same with loud breathing. my OH knows this and fortunately takes it in his stride when I shoot daggers at him while he is eating and have to have music or tv on whenever we eat. I am a nutter though.

bonnyb1 · 28/11/2009 23:21

how is this for gross - I am looking after a young person who likes to boil sheeps feet then slurps and sucks noisily on the bones, pulling the marrow out with his teeth! I have to leave the house it makes me heave shudder.

UpsyOne · 28/11/2009 23:23

bonnyb1 - you work in sanitoreum no?

bonnyb1 · 28/11/2009 23:28

ha ha no I am fostering a boy from Afghanistan, apparently this is a traditional dish. I'll get him on pizzas if it kills me

jasper · 28/11/2009 23:35

Sisters I thought I was alone.
I have a horror of noisy eating that borders on the psychotic.
Eccentricagallumbits where do you live?

I will come round and help you kill him

meltedchocolate · 28/11/2009 23:41

Whats that?? "shlop shlop, comp chomp, mam mam mam"

ibangthedrums · 28/11/2009 23:49

Its when the noisy eating is also accompanied by some teeth squeking (someone please help me out with my total inability to spell this word!!!!) and jaw clicking.

Oh yes - and the cutlery banging against aforementioned teeth.

I think I need to live alone

jasper · 29/11/2009 00:37

and the slurping of food off the fork.

And forking , say a big pice of chicken then taking bites from the bit on the fork

meltedchocolate · 29/11/2009 00:47

'Squeeking'?? ibangthedrums

Triggles · 29/11/2009 04:02

oh god, I am so glad it's not just me!!! Noisy eating makes me insane! I've been known to turn on the radio or turn up the tv when someone is eating nearby. It just sets my teeth on edge...
