to think that cosmic ordering

. . . works amazingly well?

I don't really know about the rules, haven't bought any books (although did download Edmonds's app for iPhone) but did see a dvd about it when I was house sitting - they didn't call it cosmic ordering though, but is same thing

I sort of believe in horoscopes a bit too though

branflake81 · 05/11/2009 15:34

eh? what is it?

MitchyInge · 05/11/2009 15:38

it's the law of attraction innit - thoughts become things

like, when my land rover kept breaking down and I worried about it and joked about it and laughed about it and it kept breaking down, so now I think about other things and have a different land rover and this one has only broken down twice

actually that is a shit example

all land rovers break down with or without magic cosmic intervention

my chickens are a better example, I asked the universe to provide them plus everything they need - took about 6 weeks but first someone gave me a house for them, someone else gave me a run (which fit perfectly) then a feeder, water thing and then nothing for a week or two until someone asked if I knew anyone who could take some ex-batts

I suppose along the way I was asking around to see if anyone had any spare stuff to sell but it was all FREE

on the first day of having them one went on my neighbour's shed roof and mysteriously a man appeared at the bottom of my garden with a chicken-catching net - he'd bought a bit of land nearby to keep hens on and his only access to it is via the footpath at the bottom of my garden, he was just on his way there with a pocket full of meal worms and a magic net thing so I think that was a Sign from the universe?

Law of attraction, thoughts become things, be they bad thoughts or good thoughts. Dunno why they had to re-name it cosmic ordering.

I'm not convinced how much of it has to do with the the universe and it's stream of consciousness, but obviously thinking good positive thoughts, going with the the flow of life, allowing things to happen and being thankful for what you have is going to lead you to be a happier more successful person than if you are a pessimist who's mind is full of woe.

I kind of like to believe it's all true, such a nice idea. I prefer the Abraham-Hicks version of it though.

MitchyInge · 05/11/2009 16:04

have a friend in RL who has been chuntering on telling me about Abraham-Hicks, she has quite an extreme view of these things though - that we completely create our own reality even the awful things that happen at random which I'm a bit about

It's bollocks of course. The people it generates the most money for are the ones charging fat fees for 'teaching' it to people (hopefully at least some of the lessons are 'here is how to get mugs to send money').
As with all woo, people who believe in it get pants-shittingly excited over occasional coincidences and conveniently forget all the other times things didn't work out as planned. Or indeed their explanation is something handy about their faith not being strong enough...

andgodcreatedwoman · 05/11/2009 16:10

Yeah, I don't care if it's woo though.

I'm pretending to believe it to see if I get what I wished for. It's worth a try!

MitchyInge · 05/11/2009 16:12

is it based on faith then? not just ask and wait?

(I am almost always in a state of pants-shitting excitement, combination of irritable bowel syndrome and hyperthymia )

maybe I should ask for something extreme to really put it to the test - something mad?

oh lordy

Sounbds like the same thing religious people call prayer.

Loada bollox if you ask me.

andgodcreatedwoman · 05/11/2009 16:21

MitchyInge, that was funny!

overmydeadbody · 05/11/2009 16:21

How come, if it works, I still haven't got a man then? I wrote down exactly what I wanted last year in a fit of positive thinking and confidence boosting activites. And yet no man appeared

MitchyInge · 05/11/2009 16:22

it does read a bit like a prayer, I was horribly embarrassed when the cleaner found my 'letter to the universe' which outlined all my demands requests

but there was stuff on there I'd forgotten about that has come to pass in a roundabout way - am still waiting for about £2.4m though

(I actually really do have both IBS and hyperthymia )

that's how I feel Reality - maybe it is just optimistic wiring, my life is probably a terrible tragedy to some people but I'm enjoying it!

I won quite a bit last month, bought two more tickets and two smaller wins, hope I have not cosmically ordered a gambling addiction by mistake

Positive thinking is a load of guff and potentially harmful. What women need is some bloody realistic thinking if you ask me.

It is what it is - you can't make something better by saying 'ooh it's great'. If it's crap it's crap. And realising that it is crap is the first step in making changes.

MitchyInge · 05/11/2009 16:45

reality - I asked for 'a blue land rover', someone gave me a discovery (I sort of had a defender station wagon in mind but actually this is much more comfortable and just as good for work), it's about 400yrs old though but am very happy with it. At least it was the right colour

OP posts:
suwoo · 05/11/2009 16:45

Ok, so what is 'woo'? Tis nowt to do with me

MitchyInge · 05/11/2009 16:46

morris, I think you confuse positive thinking with denial there!

OP posts:
fraggletits · 05/11/2009 16:49

Yes my friend tried to get me into 'The Secret' - you can watch part 1 on youtube or google videos but then to watch part 2 and really 'unlock the secret' of asking the planets for (and ultimately receiving) your hearts desires -- you have to pay £20

TsarChasm · 05/11/2009 16:52

I should be saying it's bonkers. But then again, I do believe in the parking fairy. She always sees me right.

( I'm so glad this is anonymous you know)
