expecting a call from ds1 any time now...aibu to stick to NO

ok ds1 was really showing off yesterday and the day before. I warned him both days if he carried on I would not be letting him do football training today. Well he did carry it on until he left for school this morning so aibu to say no when he calls and i know he will call to see if he can soft soap/change my mind.

YANBU - if you're not consistent then you are making a rod for your own back - he will argue every decision from then on because he will think he can change it. Stick to your guns!

I think you did the right thing. Our kids need to understand that when they do wrong there are consequences. Just remember that you're not doing it to spite him, but to teach him that sometimes we all need reined in a little.

That's pretty serious though.

Ok showing of.....Started with Saturday morning I went to a market and bought ds2 some stickle bricks for £3 did buy ds1 some dr who bits as well, but he had not seen them as I was putting them away for xmas. DS1 started moaning and ended up causing a row between sister, mum and I where I was told I was being unfair to him. Fast forward 2 hours when we were home and I asked him to load the dishwasher, am a believer that children should have chores, and clear the toys away which he and ds2 had finished playing with. Cue him start shouting at me and telling me i was unfair. I sent him to his room, had a friend here so that helped me stay calm lol. DP came home from work at about 5 and started dinner (was his turn) asked ds1 to load dishwasher as he still hadn't done it.

When dinner was ready he started moaning because it was not what he wanted, he apparently likes stuffing and chicken but not when you have stuffed chicken breast

8.30 he was asked to go to his room and out of my way as i was beginning to lose patience and he started screaming shouting crying etc until 11.10pm. He got up sunday and refused to do anything i asked him, dp was at work and I ended up walking out with ds2 and walking streets for 1 hr 20 minutes to calm down after he had been screaming at me and telling me i was a rubbish mum etc. My only crime was asking him to load the dishwasher from breakfast. Then last night he refused to go to bed shouting etc until gone 10pm. Hence reason i told him he was not doing football today. The End.

MrsJammi, it drives me mnad too. They thought i was being unfair because i had bought ds2 (2yrs) stickle bricks and they had not seen what I had bought ds1.
