ok ds1 was really showing off yesterday and the day before. I warned him both days if he carried on I would not be letting him do football training today. Well he did carry it on until he left for school this morning so aibu to say no when he calls and i know he will call to see if he can soft soap/change my mind.

Oh god I feel for you mdd is a little geeky but burgeoning atm with her friend egging her on so I might have a similar thread in a few months time.

thesecondcoming hope you don't mind but I showed your earlier post to ds (12) who refuses to go to Woodcraft cos it's "proper boooring innit"

...could tell he was (silently) impressed

"she's got a new set of friends though-little dumpy fat ones (is that a horrible thing to say?) who have to dress like that to get boys" - you're talking about 14yearolds^ here?????????

TheLadyEvenstar · 29/09/2009 22:28

Seeker, sadly thats how some 14yr olds see themselves...

OP posts:
seeker · 29/09/2009 22:31

TSC, I agree...am soooooo glad I have a while to go until I have to worry whether ds1 is up to things he shouldn't be!

'so when she wears body conscious stuff/short stuff/high heels/low tops she looks amazing-but very lolita."

This might seem to be a very stupid question, but why do you let her?

TheLadyEvenstar · 29/09/2009 22:41

Seeker, I would assume because TSC realises that she will wear them anyway whether she sneaks the clothes out, borrows a friends....I know I did, but i didn't sneak them out or borrow friends clothes. My parents did not stop me wearing the clothes i wanted. They just made sure i had enough self respect to know that looking good did not mean having to have sex.

TSC, wasn't insinuating your dd was having sex. Was saying even though you allow her freedom (to an extent) with her clothes you have taught her to respect herself enough that she doesn't have to follow her friends in everything they do.
