To expect someone not to let their three dogs jump all over me

and "playbite" my arms?!!! I was on a rural path...fair enough, but I think people should control their dogs...I got muddy footprints all over me. It is also kind of scary if you don't know the dogs. There were two women with 3 dogs, not even an apology. Even when I said angrily, "please can you get your dogs off me". That's just not on - is it?

here here riven dog shit is my pet peeve. it pisses me off that responsible dog owners (I like to put myself in this catagory) are tarred with the same brush as the disgusting jippos who don't pick up their pets do do

MoonlightMcKenzie · 24/09/2009 17:29

thesunshine I have to admit, that if all dogs were as you describe, then open spaces would be much happier places. I can see why you would defend your dog against cruelty. If I met your dog, I probably would too. I don't think any of the anti-dog posters here would disagree with me.

It is not you or your dog that people here feel so strongly about.

thesunshinesbrightly · 24/09/2009 17:47

i do understand moonlight, but she really is one in a million i'm sure i will never have another dog like her.

and i also pick up my dog's poo with my little bags i carry everywhere

MillyMollyMoo · 24/09/2009 17:48

I'm not being funny but how many people allow their children to walk up to random dogs and start patting them ? the number of times I've had to say to parents looking the other way whilst their toddler runs over to my dog and pokes them in the eye or pulls her ears is quite remarkable, I don't however kick the kid out the way or give a mouthful to the parent and yet if my dog was the snappy kind she would be in the wrong, respect works both ways.
For every jumpy dog there's an over keen child "who loves dogs" and a parent who doesn't consider the dogs might not feel the same way.
As for dog shite, well I particularly hate that as my dog tends to eat it if she finds it which turns my stomach.

pooexplosions · 24/09/2009 17:49

"as the disgusting jippos"

Excuse me?

MoonlightMcKenzie · 24/09/2009 17:53

what does jippos mean?

PeedOffWithNits · 24/09/2009 17:55

I assume jippo mean "gypo" - gypsy, being used as a derogatory name, nice

barnpot · 24/09/2009 17:56

dirty people
nice to see you btw

PeedOffWithNits · 24/09/2009 17:57

VERY offensive barnpot

thesunshinesbrightly · 24/09/2009 17:58

oh dear

PeedOffWithNits · 24/09/2009 17:58

I predict this thread will take a whole new route now, barnpot

barnpot · 24/09/2009 17:59

thought it was just a word for dirtyness

barnpot · 24/09/2009 17:59

sorry

PeedOffWithNits · 24/09/2009 18:02

It most certainly is NOT a general word in its own right, it is slang for gypsy and therefore very offensive in the context you used it.

Dirty buggers would have sufficed! LOL
(am with you on the dog mess though, disgusting beggars)

barnpot · 24/09/2009 18:08

ok retracting 'jippos' replacing with buggers. honestly didn't mean to cause offence
just getting humble pie out of oven.

PeedOffWithNits · 24/09/2009 18:12

i think you will find that humble pie is meant to be eaten cold though, LOL

barnpot · 24/09/2009 18:13

and now putting it in fridge lol

LittleMissMummy · 24/09/2009 18:50

'I don't however kick the kid out the way or give a mouthful to the parent and yet if my dog was the snappy kind she would be in the wrong, respect works both ways.'

Milly - are you seriously trying to compare an animal to a child ?

If I had a dog and a child started poking it, I certainly wouldn't think about kicking the child out of the way. However if a dog started poking its face near my child, I would have no problem whatsoever in kicking it out of the way.

MillyMollyMoo · 24/09/2009 19:37

I think you'd find Miss Mummy that the law is quite clear on animals rights as it is on childrens, neither are to be kicked.

MoonlightMcKenzie · 24/09/2009 19:38

I would kick any child that is aiming for mine with a potentially fatal weapon and I'm pretty sure the law would be on my side.

Pathetic, there's actually been studies that indicate people who abuse animals are likely to abuse their children too so quite clearly we aren't dealing with rational people here.

pooexplosions · 24/09/2009 20:08

People who abuse animals? Now we know you've lost it...nobody is talking about abusing animals, just defending their children from animals. Animals that bite, maul, savage and occasionally KILLL small children.

But not yours, of course, yours are perfection........

Get a grip.
