How much shall I ask for in the divorce settlement?

BroodyChook · 16/09/2009 13:23

Everything. The bastard.

StealthPolarBear · 16/09/2009 13:24

you are overreacting. Counselling could help as long as you are clear that it must never ever happen again or you are gone

weegiemum · 16/09/2009 13:25

Did your children witness this? They too may need help!

PeedOffWithNits · 16/09/2009 13:26

today, as in for the first time?

congratulations, you have a good un there!!!

TigerFeet · 16/09/2009 13:28

Enough to buy a self-closing toilet seat made of solid gold.

paisleyleaf · 16/09/2009 13:31

You should leave it down ..... see how he likes it!

I wouldn't leave him over this.

I'd hire somebody to take care of him.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 16/09/2009 13:35

Who made the rule that seats should be down? Maybe toilet seats should be left up and we are in the wrong, nobody ever worries about the inconvienience for the men having to lift it up ever time.

Plus if it is up then you are guarenteed a piss free seat.

Just a thought.

As you were.

CrackWhoretoPaulDacre · 16/09/2009 13:35

Perhaps you might like to talk this over with someone who understands what you're going through? Women's Aid or someone similar?

I hope you can get through this, for the sake of the children

CrackWhoretoPaulDacre · 16/09/2009 13:36

Ooh, crossposts with Reality!

PeedOffWithNits · 16/09/2009 13:43

his and hers loos is the obvious answer

in our house the rule is girls outnumber boys so seat should be down as a rule, and replaced after use

As WTHTW, leave the seat up

(however the pan is a bit cold when you forget in the middle of the night!)

GrimmaTheNome · 16/09/2009 13:56

Leaving the seat up is a seriously bad idea if you have a DD who wanders to the loo in the night and falls in.

If men can't use the loo properly (spraying is even worse than seat abuse) then they should be sent outside like dogs. Or Bob Flowerdew - enrich the compost heap.

On reflection I think the only thing to do is hire a wallah to stand beside your toilet and lift/lower the seat according to the needs of the toileter.

A small price to pay for marital harmony imo.

CrackWhoretoPaulDacre · 16/09/2009 14:12

"the needs of the toileter" [shudder]

ABetaDad · 16/09/2009 14:16

WTHTW - you got there before me.

GirlsAreLOud - consider this. For 44 years and 6 months of going to the toilet unsupervised no one has ever been able to explain WHY the seat has to be left down after I have finished.

Lets see now. Multiply 44.5 years x 365 days x 6 times a day is 97455 times I have had to lift that lid and replace it. Its a tyranny. Just once, I (and your DH no doubt) want to rebel and leave that seat up. Why am I not allowed to just leave it up and then whoever follows can either put it down or leave it up as the need and desire arises?

Why has it got to be down and why does it annoy women if it is left up? Anyone?

LOL at "tyranny"

TigerFeet · 16/09/2009 14:23

My Mum has a separate toilet and bathroom - a far more hygienic arrangement imo.

Not much space in there for the bog wallah though.

GrimmaTheNome · 16/09/2009 14:32

Because if you leave it up it is a trap for the unwary (esp small girls in the dark). Down is safe.

weegiemum · 16/09/2009 14:32

Reason to leave the lid shut:

Tamagotchis don't work after they have been lifted out of the toilet.

weegiemum · 16/09/2009 14:33

Mind you I left the lid shut once and ds (poor wee thing) peed on it and thus all over the floor in the middle of the night.
