This thread

honestly. I didn't realise so much went in to inviting your mate round for coffee.

i normally have a very open house policy and have people in and out all the time but i think i may have to reconsider now.
god knows what people must think about my own lax housework skills.

oh and there was I waiting for an invite >

MitchyInge · 14/09/2009 17:30

breathes in great lungfuls of wet dog

I know!

bidibidi · 14/09/2009 17:33

Chin Up, Mamazon.
I only read that thread assuming I would find dozens of things about my home that would be mentioned.
And I didn't.
Well, not really, and anyway, it's about things that are "irrational" pet hates. It's mostly just a venting thread when people know that they are being silly and petty.

bradsmissus · 14/09/2009 17:38

You can invite me if you like - I am only irritated in a very rational manner!!!!

EffiePerine · 14/09/2009 17:38

They have too much time on their hands - I don't have time to worry about the state of myu own house, let alone other people's. Judging dusting habits (or whatever) is a sign of a teeny tiny mind.

TheDMshouldbeRivened · 14/09/2009 17:39

same here mamzon. Afrer the shoes off thread I'd never invite anyone here cos we are a shoes off house but most people took umbrage on a thread as if it was the worst thing you could do to a guest!

skihorse · 14/09/2009 17:42

My idea of housework is to sweep the room with a glance.

Hence... shoes off! ... although this makes my OH moan that his socks are covered in dog hair!

EffiePerine · 14/09/2009 17:44

Have just read thread. Good lord. Top dislike: bookcases. Top like: space between wall unit and ceiling.

Mamazon · 14/09/2009 17:49

oh 2shoes your welcome anytime...i know your a fellow slattern

I know its only meant in jest but jeez, some people have really high standards

OP posts:
LIZS · 14/09/2009 17:51

as if I wasn't paranoid enough when people visit !

TheDMshouldbeRivened · 14/09/2009 17:51

my house is a bit of a jumble

BitOfFun · 14/09/2009 17:53

I would be a bit scared of coming because of the pythons tbh

elvislives · 14/09/2009 17:57

I had the same thought when I read it. We are so lucky that nobody visits us because I think we tick most of the boxes that people hate (except over-tidy/over clean and ornaments)

Fruitbeard · 14/09/2009 17:58

I've just read all 7 pages of that thread and am shocked there are such judgey people in the world!

None of them are EVER coming round to mine (although the moss between the bricks in the driveway - which I like - would no doubt send most of the fussy buggers screaming into the night before they got inside, anyway...)

loujay · 14/09/2009 18:06

Just read the first page...........I do have a life size elvis on the wall (left after DH 40th - nothing else to do with it!!) I don't have any bookshelves at the moment (books all in loft whilst I wait for dh to build shelves) and I have just checked my sink - there is a tiny amount of food in the plughole, also dont have lock on bathroom or a bin in there as it is in the middle of redecoration............no one is coming to mine then11 .........although you are all very welcome and I do a lovely line in home made biscuits / cakes and beautiful coffee!!

differentID · 14/09/2009 18:08

I would be far too terrified as well. I've only just started to relax a bit when MIL comes around to feed cats when we go away and we've been here 8 years nearly.

MmeLindt · 14/09/2009 18:09

Oh, I have posted LOADS on that thread, but am sitting amongst the debris of today. Coffee cups, cereal packet still on the table from this morning, half eaten toastie.

Most of my pet hates are to do with my parents tbh, and they are not real hates, just the things that make me roll my eyes and value my own home more.

Mamazon · 14/09/2009 18:13

Pythons are locked away in their own little homes BoF, You'll be perfectly safe. from them anyway.

and so many people seem to hate dog's and judge people if they can smell a dog has lived in the house.

how about its my dog's home and im not going to make him walk round wrapped in febreeze sheets just so that any possib;le visitors don't have the annoyance of raising their heads even further up their arses.

bodeniites · 14/09/2009 18:15

i love my home i thnk its gorgeous couldnt care less what anyone thinkh tbh i joined in that thread but honestly if you cant be yourself in your own home whats the point of it all

2shoes · 14/09/2009 18:17

omg that other thread is rude.
I would rather go to mamazons house and meet her pets than visit rude peole like that

differentID · 14/09/2009 18:21

Snap 2shoes.

Well, maybe not the pythons all at once

HigherThanAWombat · 14/09/2009 18:22

You have pythons Mamazon? Which species?

lisad123wantsherquoteinDM · 14/09/2009 18:26

you can invite me, i dont care as long as tea is warm and the companies good

ginormoboobs · 14/09/2009 18:30

I posted on that thread.
Mine are all pretty normal though. Surely no-one likes sitting on a sofa with a coating of animal hair lol
I reckon loads of people would hate visiting my house. I have a rather noisy cat , pet tarantulas and scorpions. All 8 leggesd pets live in the kitchen [grin

HigherThanAWombat · 14/09/2009 18:33

I'd love to visit your house. I'm very about your scorpion and tarantulas.
