DS1 started secondary yesterday. He wants me to let him come home alone tomorrow.....I am scared shitless (putting it bluntly) he has only ever travelled alone once before!

Mornings are sorted....one of the teachers travels on the same bus and she has said she will watch out for him in the mornings.

I want him to stay my babyyyyyyyyyyy

Take a deeeeep breath and breaaaaaaaaaaaaath

He will be fine

Really

My DD was going to school alone when we lived in Germany and she was only 6yo (it is normal for the DC to go alone there)

Maybe you should think about counselling to talk about what happened to you when you were 18, if it is still having such an effect on you.

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/09/2009 07:02

Mme, it doesn't normally bother me. But with ds1 having to do this alone it has reared its ugly head. I don't need counselling......I have you all on here and you will talk me through this.

OP posts:
MmeLindt · 09/09/2009 07:03

Ok, I thought it was something that was bothering you.

Just think how chuffed he is going to be tonight when he comes home. He is going to be really proud of himself.

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/09/2009 07:07

Mme, I know he will be proud. I did let him come home from junior school once and met him at the bus he looked like a frightened rabbit tbh.

YANBU as DW says that DS1 (age 9) is not going to school on his own until he is 18 (he is asking to now) and not having a girlfriend until some time after that.

nikki1978 · 09/09/2009 07:24

Oh my first day at secondary school my mum told me which buses to get on (there was one from the bottom of my road which took 10 mins then you could catch another or walk about 15 mins). Never thought anything of it. Was more than old enough by then. Has he only just turned 11 or is he nearer to 12?

shabbapinkfrog · 09/09/2009 07:27

Going to try and peel DS4 out of his bed!! Wish me luck, this could take some time

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/09/2009 07:30

LOL Shabba good luck!!!

AbetaDad oh ds1 is not having a girlfriend until way after he is 18 either and ds2 is staying at home with me foreverrrrrrrrrr lol.

Nikki, he only turned 11 at the end of July so he is still my baby.

shabbapinkfrog · 09/09/2009 07:32

There is movement and bum scratching going on with my lad!!!

DS4's birthday is the 24th of July so he is one of the younger ones in his year.
