Not at all.

Bet it was written by a man.

Happy period indeed. Twats.

dizzymare · 23/07/2009 20:28

I'd give anything to have a period right now, happy or otherwise I'm not bothered

cocolepew · 23/07/2009 20:30

On behalf of Always can I offer my apologies for leading you to believe this. Our next ad will show woman doubled over in pain, hugging a hot water bottle and not wearing white trousers.
Thank you and sorry again.

paranoidpiggy · 23/07/2009 20:33

There's a brilliant letter somewhere written by a woman to Always customer services sayign just that. I'll try and find a link

RustyBear · 23/07/2009 20:33

Someone once posted a letter on here allegedly written to Always' Head of marketing by an infuriated woman - can't remember who.

paranoidpiggy · 23/07/2009 20:33

Ha! Beat me to it

expatinscotland · 23/07/2009 20:34

Grown women still use towels regularly?

Ick. Terrible for the environment, too. REALLY bad.

Get a mooncup.

cocolepew · 23/07/2009 20:34

Brilliant!

I didn't realise they printed it on the pad.

RustyBear · 23/07/2009 20:35

That was the one....

HecatesTwopenceworth · 23/07/2009 20:36

I LOVE the idea of printing Put Down The Hammer on san pads!

Imagine what else you could put on them!

PommePoire · 23/07/2009 20:36

I had this forwarded from a friend ages ago in one of those 'doing the rounds' emails that normally drive you mad, but my god this woman pens a good letter, ROFL even now.

Thunderduck · 23/07/2009 20:37

I use towels. No chance of me going anywhere near a Mooncup.

roneef · 23/07/2009 20:37

I wish Always made me have a happy period!!

I've had a really bad reaction to the pads recently and think I may be allergic

roneef · 23/07/2009 20:39

What's so icky about them anyway, expat?

Very useful. No worse than tissues, environmentally

expatinscotland · 23/07/2009 20:40

They're smelly, like a nappy, and which would you rather have washing up on your shores, a tissue or a bloody, rank, used towel?

Totally vile.

Thunderduck · 23/07/2009 20:43

There is no chance of a Mooncup or even a tampon going in there when I am sore and doubled over with intense cramps, tampons make me feel worse then.
There's more chance of dp going in there at that time and I have a restraining order taken out against him when I'm on my periods.

roneef · 23/07/2009 20:44

I don't keep mine on for long enough to get smelly.

You're supposed to change them regularly,

much like a babys nappy.

I'm gonna miss my always.

AitchTwoOh · 23/07/2009 20:50

to be completely serious, thunder, if you suffer badly it might be good for you to try. lots of us have found that the cramps we thought were coming directly from having our period were actually a result of using tampons. obv if you're using towels, this isn't relevant.

Thunderduck · 23/07/2009 20:51

I have PCOS. Perhaps I'll try it one day when I'm feeling brave, but I found that tampons intensified my cramps.

AitchTwoOh · 23/07/2009 20:54

i have pcos too, hunker i think had endo bad enough to need two ops and pcos. she found a transformation with the mooncup. good luck either way, it's horrible being in that sort of pain.

Thunderduck · 23/07/2009 20:55

TY.I will give it a try soon then.

SausageRocket · 23/07/2009 20:59

roneef - environmentally they ARE worse than tissues though as they have a plastic backing, glues and whatnot. At least tissues break down eventually.

Although surely, the blood and gore has been soaked out of the towel by the time it washes up on the shore ?
