..to think this is Not On in an adult male??

I took the kids to my friends' house for the weekend, which was lovely but of course not all fun since I had to spend the weekend selflessly tending to their every need, getting woken up at 545 etc etc. I left not-so-DP alone to have a bit of Him Time- also to do some of the stuff around the house that you really can't do with three kids and two dogs underfoot.When I got back last night, he hadn't done shag (we're going on holiday later this week)- the house was a complete mess, he hadn't done any holiday stuff, he hadn't even had to get himself a meal because he's gone round my SILs to get fed.Course if he doesn't do these things, means I have to, this week, and I'm already up to me eyes in it.

The lazy greedy bastard.

ANYway, this morning, I wasn't spying,honest. I'd come in on the wrong computer ID without noticing (pc v patriarchal and my partner's ID is the default- there's no password, it goes on automatically).I was doing a college assignment that I hadn't touched since Friday last, so I went straight in on Google history.

And what do you think came up?

so now I'm thinking, not only is he lazy, thinks domestic tasks beyond him, inherently sexist, yik yak yik yak...he's an idiot, and he's been looking at tits. Not just any tits, Emma Thompson's tits! My GRANDDAD would've probably put in a similar search! he's not even looking at proper grown up porn,ffs!!

Am SO annoyed. Thought I was living with a reasonably intelligent decent human being for last ten years but now am just thinking he's a twat.

Was clutching at straws, tho, DS has been away on residential course for the last week.

I once saw on our Google history my DP had been looking at a site called "Game Birds". I questioned him, but turned out he was looking for a new pigeon supplier!

He is a chef, so the explanation stood up to scrutiny. (I did see the site!)

I'd be more miffed with your partner for not doing the jobs arround the house. There's no excuse for that! I'd make sure he kept me supplied with ridiculous cocktails with umbrellas and everything all holiday long.

My husband's taken the kids off me to get on with some important stuff that needed done, I can't imagine not doing in and then dropping him in it.

Because it's not very respecting of him.

I am wrecking my brain on what to do, I dont want to spend my life resenting him every day for being a similar twat, I concluded I'd pretend I am a single mother and stop expecting his help for anythihng at all. It does not solve the problem, but I hope I will stop the big green resentment monster inside of me.

The other way most of us do it is just not to tolerate or expect someone who doesn't pull their weight from the very first night you're together. Never ever do an unfair task and then divide things up fairly and ensure you're each always responsible for your own jobs. For example for years I never touched the washing machine - it was his domain so I didn't even think about what needed washing and there was a time when I probably didn't nkow how to work it and he did the dishwasher. I plaited the girls' hair, did school bags for next day, bought Christmas presents, did our tax returns. He took children to the dentist always 100% of the time and I did all filing and admin. As long as it's all fiarly done it's fine and never ever give someone a weekend off like that without booking your own equivalent weekend off. When is yours?

haha - that's like my DH (whose computer is right next to mine) had "Fresh Meat" open on his computer for ages, he kept flipping off and on it as he was faffing with his computer so I couldn't see what exactly it was all about.
