Was watching Newswipe on Iplayer and the man makes me laugh out loud and seems not to take himself too seriously - a devastating combination IMO.

Yes I know he's married but you know, Charlie, if you ever decide that its not working out, y'know, give me a call sometime...

Married???! Since when?

cornsilk · 27/06/2009 18:28

hmmm - not really my type...

madameovary · 27/06/2009 18:28

priceless
Spicemonster - you mean he's NOT married???

[Prepares to bump thread several times in case CB sees it]

OP posts:
spicemonster · 27/06/2009 18:31

Not as far as I know. Not that I'm stalking him or anything

Who's CB? I saw him first! Gerroff

slackrunner · 27/06/2009 18:32

He's not married (well he wasn't in Jan 09)

hopeful?

slackrunner · 27/06/2009 18:32

I love his weekly column in The Grauniad.

cookielove · 27/06/2009 18:33

He looks like a potato head, but each to their own and all that

BunnyLebowski · 27/06/2009 18:34

Oh I have a massive crush on Mr Brooker! His grumpiness and general misanthropy turns me on big time. I really need to get out more don't I?

God you lot are weird fancying grumpy men.

cornsilk · 27/06/2009 18:37

If a man's not prepared to fetch me a big mac when I'm hung over, then I'm not interested.

jeee · 27/06/2009 18:38

YABU - now, if you'd said Ian Hislop it would be a different matter...

cornsilk · 27/06/2009 18:39

God now I know I'm in a parallel universe.

madameovary · 27/06/2009 18:41

Yes I know, but on balance I'd rather have a grumpy man than a charmer who turns out to be someone like my hideous fake of an ex.

No honeymoon period, no best behaviour, just a bitchfest of a date, an airing of all your worst habits and attributes and then compare notes.
That'll do me.

spicemonster · 27/06/2009 18:47

He's grumpy but he's fucking funny. He'd make you snort and your wine would come out of your nose

stainesmassif · 27/06/2009 18:52

i agree re cb, though madameovary, seeing as you have dibs i'll let you have him....he's angry about all the right things too. and can really drum up some invective when the mood takes him. very satisfying.

madameovary · 27/06/2009 18:54

Thank you staines.

AnathemaDevice · 27/06/2009 18:56

I don't fancy him, but I think he's fantastic, and think he should be Prime Minister. I wish I was as articulate in my grumpiness as he is.

McSnail · 27/06/2009 19:01

I adore Charlie.

Did anyone see Dead Set?

madameovary · 27/06/2009 19:03

I didnt as I dont like gore - even funny gore, but having heard about the zombie Davina McCall I may have to force myself!

stainesmassif · 27/06/2009 19:11

you're welcome madame. back at you. Dead Set was great, combining my love of big brother and dystopian visions of the imminent future. god bless charlie brooker.

TheDevilWearsSocksWithSandals · 27/06/2009 19:24

There a couple of male mners (current and past) I strongly suspect of being brilliant meeja types.

Charlie Brooker is genius. If you're reading come over to mine for dinner, hehe

Scorpette · 27/06/2009 19:56

Charlie Brooker is WONDERFUL. I think he's the funniest person in the media right now. And a friend of mine used to work with him (and still sees him occasionally) and she says he is the sweetest, gentlest person ever, not at all grumpy like his persona, and IS single! He's not a hunk, but he's not ugly either. I heart him
