Was watching Newswipe on Iplayer and the man makes me laugh out loud and seems not to take himself too seriously - a devastating combination IMO.

Yes I know he's married but you know, Charlie, if you ever decide that its not working out, y'know, give me a call sometime...

Would he go to McDonald's if you had a hangover though? I think not.

Mintyy · 27/06/2009 20:01

Oh dear, he's SUCH a twat. So deeply unfunny. But he's a fellow emetophobe and that's not funny so, sympathies Charlie, if you are watching - which you surely will be now that you are in a national newspaper and on tv and a household name and all .

madameovary · 27/06/2009 20:02

Oh Scorpette, put in a good word please
Devil I have Dibs, so ner.

A twat!? how very dare you

Mintyy · 27/06/2009 20:03

Charlie Brooker, for example, is a twat.

madameovary · 27/06/2009 20:08

ANYWAY, Charlie, if you're reading this, and fancy spending some time in Scotland, look me up.

Worzsel · 27/06/2009 20:10

He makes me laugh and i think he'd probably get it too..

Df doesn't get it atall

nickytwotimes · 27/06/2009 20:13

He is hilarious, but not my type in the looks department. Each to their own though.
Now, Webb from 'Mitchell and...' on the other hand...

cornsilk · 27/06/2009 20:14

Which one's Webb?

nickytwotimes · 27/06/2009 20:16

Webb is the one that has curlyish hair.
THe one that doesn't have a Hitler haircut.
He did FLashdance.

nickytwotimes · 27/06/2009 20:16

here

Hassled · 27/06/2009 20:17

Charlie is wonderful, and one of the most vicious, hilarious writers around. But he does look like Death's Head.

cornsilk · 27/06/2009 20:19

Quite a mover!!

stainesmassif · 27/06/2009 20:22

am i the only one that feels the need to explain to charlie brooker that mintyy is joking with her comment? just in case?

Mintyy · 27/06/2009 21:00

Charlie - just in case - Mintyy is most definitely not joking.

pickyvic · 27/06/2009 21:41

oh god i am also secretly in love with charlie brooker....ive just taped and watched back to back charlie brookers newswipe.....

i am in love.

just dont tell DH.....

am an avid fan of screenwipe and i think its the only thing ive ever LOL at....when he was on about streetdoctor and did the hammer toe thing i nearly peed myself laughing.

also loved dead set.

im a fan. can you tell?

pickyvic · 27/06/2009 21:44

of forgot to say do you read his Guardian column? that is often very funny too...

madamovary im afraid id fight you for him....lol

BunnyLebowski · 27/06/2009 22:22

pickyvic - buy this

It's bloody hilarious! DP's favourite toilet book (hmm)

Have to say I didn't like Dead Set (totally derivative, not enough build-up, crap characters) but everything else he does is gold!

pickyvic · 27/06/2009 22:25

so is that a collection of his guardian columns? i could be tempted....

you know im starting to like this site!

BunnyLebowski · 27/06/2009 22:26

Yeah it's the best of his column. There is stuff in there that had me laughing like a goon on the bus to work manys a morning!

BillyJeanIsNotMyMother · 27/06/2009 23:00

It does annoy me how he rehashes his material so often but then so do all the greats hey hehee

stainesmassif · 28/06/2009 12:48

charlie brooker is too cool to google himself anyway

GooseyLoosey · 28/06/2009 12:54

You lot are wierd! Can you imagine his comments over cornflakes if you were looking a bit rough or if your repartee was less than sparkling. Biting humour is great, but not directed at you over breakfast!

pickyvic · 28/06/2009 13:37

oooo no he can bite my humour any time....even over breakfast!

cyteen · 28/06/2009 13:40

Never underestimate the power of a man who can make you laugh. I realised last night that I have a bit of a crush on David Mitchell, which took me rather by surprise
